Couple of questions on the 1.6A. Been out of the loop for awhile

I was one of the few people apparently to get a 1.6a that would not do 2133 mhz.

The problem was not RAM, the CPU would simply hard lock at that speed even with maxxed vcore (in my overclocking experience hard locks are usually from the cpu core giving up, blue screens, apps crashing, etc, are RAM failures).

I am running a 2.2a now and it is absolutely rock solid with the same RAM and motherboard.

I just bought My System this week and I love it...
I upgraded from a Athlon 1.0Ghz and havent looked back.

My Max FSB is 150 no matter what I do, but its all good
I use a Thermaltake Volcano 7+ and my temp is about 105F Idle
ANd My mobo supports Cas 1.5, I am glad I made the switch back to Intel

I may be wrong, but those sound a lot more like RAM speeds than CPU speeds to me.

What do you think, the cpu speeds up when you set the ram to a faster FSB speed.

The retail HSF is pretty big (they probably use the same one for the whole Northwood line), so you should be fine with it unless you're going to do some extreme overclocking.

What do you consider extremet overclocking? I'd like to hit at least 150fsb if possible. I mean 133 is given pretty much.

133 is not a given. Several forum members (who are not idiots) were not able to get their 1.6a cores to 133mhz FSB.
