1. Is consumer report still a reliable site, in the market of a new refrigerator and its ranking Kenmore, LG and GE as the top 3 reliable brands...

2. Anyone use/enrolled for card cash ACH payment? It is safe reliable to deal with them in that manner? Wondering, as they require you to send a copy your drivers license and all...

TIA...

1. We have the LG and it works. Mom bought the samsung and have had to replace the circuit board twice. I did put a whole house surge suppressor in and an appliance surge suppressor on her fridge and haven't had a problem since.

2. card cash ach payment? What is that?

1. Consumers Reports is still reliable.

2. Kenmore is listed as reliable, but it depends on the EXACT model you are buying. Sears owns no factories and does not design appliances. They take LG, GE, and others, then rebrand them to Kenmore.

3. I'm assuming you are referring to an American Express Bluebird or other debit style alternative banking system. If it is a known company, there is no problem. Remember, it doesn't not matter from a legal perspective if you are opening an account at your local bank or from an AMEX Bluebird, it is still (legally) a bank account. You must be able to identify yourself.

Personally, regarding #3, you would be far better off to join a Credit Union if you can figure out how. Relatives that worked in auto, military, teachers unions, etc. all qualify.

@edcoolio @highland145 - Okay, my apologies... I should have been more clear, cardcash.com is a gift card reselling website. Typically you get gift cards at 3 to 5% discount, now there is an additional 3% discount if you use ACH payment instead of CC. I have been using the site for years now without any problems, but never used ACH before, wondering is anyone had any experience...

I have other LG ppliance and TV and they all are working great till now, oldest one is 10+ years old. GE not so much, had a refrigerator and it had lot of problems with the drinking water dispenser and after about 7 years the door insulation of the freezer side deteriorated, Samdung, I had nothing but bad experience across the board. Yet they had top reliability rating con consumer report, that's why I was wondering about their reliability.

I was looking at overall brand reliability as the rating by model is useless and if you are buying newer model then there will be no reliability data available on those... rest of the features are a nice read but do not provide much help.

I've used ACH to pay my Internet bill. It's a lot like a check. You give them the numbers from the bottom of your check.

It doesn't seem very secure, though. It seems like anyone with a personal check from me could take those numbers and steal an unlimited amount from me using a gift card site like that. Is there any way to prevent that?
