Couple questions about building my new computer

Hey everybody I have a couple questions for my new computer that I am building. My first question is how quiet are the stock heatsinks and fans that come with boxed version of the AMD Athlon XP's? I was wondering if it would be better to get a VANTEC AeroFlow VA4-C7040. I was to build a system that is really quiet and also stay as cool as possible. I might even overclock in the future so I am to make sure I have a good heatsink. My other question are there any known incompatability issues with the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and the Asus A7N8X motherboard? Thanks for you help in advanced.

that cooler is not quiet... i have the p4 version and while it's not loud.. it uses the same TMD fan as the AMD version and it's louder than stock for sure.

the stock HSF is your best bet... unless you want a low-flow Panaflo with a Zalman ($$$) and not be able to O/C your CPU at all.

Yeah, I'm using the Vantec HSF to which you are referring. It is an awesome HSF for its noise level. I'm currently using it to OC a 1GHz axia to 1.4GHz and I have used it to OC a 1800 to 2100 level. But it is far from quiet (yet nowhere near as bad as a delta). It has a nice relatively low-pitched hum as opposed to a high pitched scream. If you need quiet, like said by Yield, stick with the stock if you won't be OCing.

26db fans or lower are what I"d reccomend. (db is on a logarithmic scale, so 30db is like 2x as loud as 26)

I can get 5 Panaflo fans that are rated at 32dba for a reasonable price.

Is 32dba loud?

32dba fans are not considered as "loud", but if you installed all 5 of them, then that would raise the noise level to what would be considered loud. Panaflo L1A fans have low noise and are an excellend product.... in moderation

If you want a quiet solution try finding a heatsink that supports 80mm fans and using a lower RPM but similar output (CFM rating) fan.
