Coupon Codes?

I am new here so please don't flame too bad. But, what is the big deal about posting coupon codes? It seems as if it would just make it easier to pass on the deals. Just asking.

It boiled down to the fact that coupon codes were being posted here that were not supposed to have gone out to the public, like employee only codes and whatnot. It also dealt with the fact that many people were finding flaws in online systems that allowed them to use more then one coupon when they were only supposed to use one, and other similar wrong practices.

A couple of stores told Anand to put a stop to it or they would sue, so coupon codes are now banned. Though your question would have been better off in Off topic or forum issues for future reference, because this is not a hotdeal.

So??? Let them go ahead and sue. This is still the USA, and you cannot be successfully sued for publishing factual information. Lots of other sites publish coupon codes and they seem to stay in business.

What it comes down to is that the people who run this website are a bunch of greedy, spineless wimps who are terrified of losing their reserved cash cow nipple.

If that is the way you feel you can leave. But It has been shown time and time again that the truely greedy spinelesss whimps are those who abuse the system and then cry when companies actaully try to make some money. Sounds kinda like someone you might know...

First of all, I suggest you go back to school and learn how to spell. Second of all, it is rather ridiculous to suggest that I am a greedy, spineless wimp since you know nothing about me. Unlike websites devoted to coupons, bargains and "deals," AnandTech Forums are computer oriented forums. Our Hot Deals forum is provided as a convenience to our members. That is why most popular posts are for Hot Deals for computer-related items.

It can easily cost you $10,000 just to get a suit like this dismissed before trial. And getting it dismissed before trial is far from certain. Going to trial is an absolute crap shoot. Right or wrong--what's legal or illegal--has little to do with it. Your jury of "peers" are going to be be a bunch of unemployed people who spend their days watching Rosie, Oprah and Jerry. Their understanding of reality is very different from yours.

The trial and the almost certain appeal--whether you win or lose--could easily cost you $50,000.

This site's decision not to allow coupon codes is entirely rational.

big companies probaby don't really care if they win or lose against people that doesn't have deep pockets.. the strategy is to make u defend urself long enough so that u blow as much money as u can...

That is a typical fascist pig comment. If you were capable of reading grammatical English, you would realize that "is a traitor and should be taken out and shot" refers to "anyone who criticizes" not "the brain-dead moron who currently occupies the white house."
