yes, but they did list the pet's "full" name as if it was a member of the family.
I'd still chalk it up to the jury selection foolio as being the biggest idiot in this bunch, though.
meh. whenever i take the animals to the vet all paperwork on them has my last name as theirs.
some people take that adn keep it.
when we listed the pets on teh census we did list them with the last name.
this is funny but not really suprising. last year one of the papers had where they tried to get a dead guy to jury duty. even after the family sent back that they were dead and couldn't make it they were told if he didn't come he could be arrested.
Oh, I guess I was just surprised that people would put pet names on the census. I would think that if you even bothered to mention them, it would be: dog, 1; spider monkey, 1; eskimo, 3. etc...

Another vote for showing up with the cat in a carrier for Jury Duty. I'd also being the jury summons and the paperwork from the commissioner denying the exemption.
I only had to do the long form in the 2000 census but I do not recall any questions about pets. Therefore:
I have been to the mountain top and I have seen the promised land! I have seen the promised land. And I call shens!
that's pretty awesome. i'd show up with the cat in a carrier just to see what happens
I can't remember how much it is, but when you show up for Jury Duty, don't you get some token amount of money?
Now, how's she going to cash the check?! I'd love to find out - my llama has a couple thousand dollars in checks (forgeries) made out to him. I'd gladly let him cash the checks, pay me for his room and board, then take the fall himself after the checks bounce.
