You guys are totally taking this the wrong way.

Look at who's she's killing. I have reached the point, where I realize it's a waste of time to talk suicides off the roofs of buildings. Now I say jump, and enjoy the ride down.

I fully support Republican's right to die. In fact, if there's anything I can do to help them in their endeavors, they should feel free to contact me.

The sooner we can get them all to Mission Accomplished, the better.

I will continue to wear my mask, and avoid the idiots.

To be honest, while the first poster there comes out looking a bit dumb, I'd rather the anaesthetist guy had gone on to explain specifically _why_ it's not true. The CO2 bit doens't sound right, but I could swear I heard that a damp mask is likely to be ineffective, even counter-productive, at stopping pathogens. Pretty sure it was 'experts' saying that, back at the start when they were telling people _not_ to use masks (apparently because they were scared people would buy up so many there'd be none left for the medical professionals)

When people are that stupid, explaining the actual science is a complete waste of time.

CO2 causes wheezing? News to me. Last time i checked CO2 is an inert gas that recently crossed into 400ppm in the atmosphere which is 0.04% compared to O2 at 21%.

In the body CO2 is exchanged with HCO3- through the carbonic anhydrase system and reaches equilibrium relatively quickly. Granted the lungs are much faster at responding at pH changes the kidneys make up the difference and readily resolve changes in pH.

Lets say a mask does cause an increase in CO2. We apparently already exhale with each breath at 3.8% Lets say we get to 4.0%. This compared to 0.04% indicates a rapid disappation into the atmosphere. If we retain any it gets urinated out. Our bodies are really good at removing CO2. We make it constantly and breath it out readily.

With critical care medicine there are two gasses we care about CO2 and O2. O2 is relatively easy to adjust if someone is on a vent. Increase the inspired fraction of O2 or add positive end expiratory pressure. CO2 is removed by adjusting tidal volume or respiratory rate.

So, to extrapolate this, if CO2 increases in our bodies, we automatically do a couple things. We breath faster and deeper. If that fails the kidneys make up the difference. This is why people are not dropping like flies with hypercarbic respiratory failure due to mask wearing.

Granted people with severe copd already have problems with gas exchange a person with healthy lungs and kidneys will have absolutely no trouble with minor gas exchange changes.

Perfect examples of how our bodies adapt include mountain climbing, scuba diving, snorkeling, drywall sanding with mask, woodworking with mask and so on and so forth.

Thats the pissoff for me.. . Fine go get Covid don't go to the hospitals and crush the medical system then. The rest of us in society need critical care for accidents, births and surgeries etc.
Don't let your ignorance f up the rest of us

Zero fucking sympathy or concern. Darwinism is alive and well in that household.
I actually I misspoke, as this does concern me. This means that people that are this fucking stupid are out there putting everyone in danger. Of course the stupidity was demonstrated without the help of a pandemic, with her obsession to go practice some ritual rights based on the fears and superstitions of ancient goat-herders that didn't even understand where the sun went at night.

But still zero fucks given about this ignorant asshole.

Good news today. Some "man" who made a big deal about refusing to wear a mask or leave was ticketed by the cops at the store my wife works at.

I'm sick and fucking tired of morons who somehow think its their right to put retail workers at risk because of their "freedumbs" and "research" on YouTube.

Treating retail and service workers poorly is in the US constitution or so Americans seem to believe. Always great to see it happen out of the country and have to cringe backwards into my soul at the behavior.

Not at all, the hypocrites have demonstrated that preventative measures are for the little people

And, the Trump rally in Valdosta, sponsored by the RNC, starts just about now. Busing them in from remote parking throughout the day & packing them in by the thousands, apparently. 49 degrees, 73% humidity, no wind so those viral laden droplets can linger in the air for a long time. Feel the Freedumb, Libtards!

But Democrats, they're just as bad. Because some are less than perfect in their conduct.

Trump dangerously denied COVID-19 and irresponsibly failed to provide leadership in the face of a global pandemic. WhatabouTrump doesn’t excuse politicians asking Americans to make sacrifices while they vacation, travel, dine and go for dips in the swamp. They are no less covidiots. Let them eat wagu, amirite?
