Well the Fallon one is kind of true. Less cashier's now are sanitizing hands between customers anymore. But not like they are coughing and sneezing in their hands either
Covid is spread through the air, transmission through objects is theoretically possible but in practice is just about impossible*. Are you putting your nostrils directly onto your purchases and huffing in as hard as you can? Even if you do that, you are highly unlikely to get the disease. If the person handling your groceries is actively ill, then your chance of getting sick comes from the fact that you are standing within a few feet of an actively ill person breathing air in the same general area.

The news scares about catching Covid from objects in the past were from rushed studies that (a) placed thousands to millions of times more virus on an object than actually occurs, (b) didn't consider the difference between detecting a virus and a viable virus, (c) put the virus onto the surface along with culture media which is ideal for growth but won't happen in real life, and (d) do not consider real-life situations such as the surface being exposed to light, handling, etc. Heck, when using actual surfaces in actual hospitals filled with actual Covid-transmissible patients, no viable virus was found on surfaces: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15356778/ "All cultures showed no growth". Virus was sometimes detectable in the hospital surface situation, but it was not viable.

* Estimates are that you have less than a 1 in 10000 chance of getting Covid from handling a contaminated surface. ( https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/science-and-research/surface-transmission.html#ref7 ) Your odds of needing emergency treatment from injury by a bed, mattress, or pillow in the next year is much higher than that (1 in 2000, https://bestpractice.bmj.com/info/us/toolkit/practise-ebm/understanding-risk/ ).

Yes, it is all Obamacare's fault that a law was passed in 1986 forcing treatment and stabilization in emergency rooms. https://www.acep.org/life-as-a-physician/ethics--legal/emtala/emtala-fact-sheet/

I was being facetious obvi, but I’m not saying they shouldn’t be treated in the ER. I’m saying that insurers shouldn’t have to foot the bill of vaccine-eligible patients if hospitalization could have been be minimized/avoided entirely.

I thought Obamacare added additional provisions requiring insurers to cover ER costs—not sure if unvaxxed qualifies as a pre-existing condition too???

When the govt quits paying for Covid care then costs will all fall to insurers who will likely use vaccination rates in determining regional rate structures. It's "their choice" & other people's money.

Taking Covidiocy to a new level. Is this purely an Australian thing?

Refusing service to anyone who _has_ been vaccinated - due to the belief that the vaccine is itself somehow 'contagious'.

Although the US is ripe with utterly stupid people, we still don't have a monopoly on stupidity. Not for lack of trying...

They can't do that, it's banned under ACA

Yeah, don't do anything until you've talked to your doctor & sorted your way thru an online tsunami of disinformation & distortion. Or don't over think it, set aside irrational fear, realizing that 165M Americans have already been vaxxed. It's not like being a test subject, at all. The sooner the stragglers come in, the sooner we won't have to deal with it much at all.

"'Enough People Have Died'"

I wonder many dead people Fox considers is "enough" to stop spreading fatal misinformation.

Yeah, that language makes it sound as if they went into the pandemic with an exact figure in mind as to how many people needed to die. Perhaps they had a counter clicking up the numbers till they reached the pre-arranged figure where they would change the line on the vaccine? "3...2...1 right that's it, enough people have now died we can start recommending the vaccine now"

Hmm, on one hand you have one dead Seth Rich, on the other you have 600,000+ dead and counting. So somewhere between 1 and 600,000+ is “too many”.
