Honestly I don't understand politics any more. It's like there's a whole new form of crazy/evil that the pandemic has revealed (or created?) that doesn't fit into left/right categories. Vaccine doesn't even cost that much for the Gov. Moderna was billed at $14 and some change to my insurance from the State. That is very affordable imo.

I think he was, tentatively and weakly, but sincerely, being pro-vaccine. I think the thought probably did dimly creep into his consciousnesses that his own supporters are the most at risk (given geography and age profile). But certainly he is never going to risk losing that narcissistic supply, so the reaction probably does mean he'll never risk trying it again.
