Yep! That’s the case in increasing numbers of cities nationwide.

Freedom is both the ability to make your own choice and an acceptance of the consequences of that choice. People like weblooker just want all the freedom and none of the responsibility, which is just indulgence.

I believe that's called anarchy and not indulgence. It's the "I will do whatever the bleep I want, whenever the bleep, I want, so bleep you" attitude.

Super genius Ted Cruz sees tweet about WA Government strictly banning dancing at parties (as a Covid distancing measure), and indignantly tweets:

“Blue-state Dems are power-drunk authoritarian kill-joys.
Washington State: NO DANCING ALLOWED!!!
Any rational & free citizen: Piss off.”

And, actually. "WA" Government is Western Australia, not Washington.

Don't worry - I’m sure he’ll find a way to blame his children for this.

Yes. Well, apparently at least one of his children has a brain, since his daughter Caroline has said via Tik Tok that she disagrees with most of his views. So of course they should be blamed for all of his troubles.

This sort of thing seems to have been missed in all those fictional depictions of apocalyptic scenarios, zombie outbreaks and other kinds of disasters. The fact that a proportion of the population _immediately_ lose their minds, long before society collapses.

Prof John Edmunds, an epidemiologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a member of Sage, said he and junior staff were targeted regularly with abusive emails. “If you mention vaccination in the media, particularly vaccination of children, then there is likely to be a reaction,” he writes. “However, this only occurs if one’s comments are picked up by the rightwing press – particularly the Daily Mail.”

Reinforcing my impression that a lot of completely insane people read that paper.

I was wondering why the UK has been so lackadaisical about vaccinating children, compared to most of the EU, but I now suspect it's because of fear of the backlash from all the crazy parents out there.

One adviser who works as a GP said the surgery’s receptionists had been subjected to “vile tirades” from callers as a result of their advisory role.

I found this particularly shocking. They really should have made a formal complaint - and challenged any assessed grade as well.

In another case, an adviser’s child was repeatedly targeted by a teacher who blamed the parent for the government’s lockdown policy. The family did not make a formal complaint because the child’s exam grade depended on the teacher’s assessment.

Thousands of anti-vaccine activists have joined a group running combat training sessions and threatening “direct action” in a sign that conspiracists have become more radical.

In the past fortnight the group, Alpha Men Assemble, has hosted several meetings for “training and strategy tactics”, The Times can reveal.

At its most recent session, on a beach at Littlehampton, West Sussex, on Tuesday, up to 100 activists took part in boxing drills and a scrummaging exercise, in which two groups of dozens of people tried to push each other back.

Very peculiar. I don't know who these people are, but the name reeks of male insecurity, the sort of thing that far-right movements historically have made use of.

Attendees are advised to bring black uniforms, boots and hats to “protect children and women” prior to the “tasks” that will be revealed in late January.

The group’s broader plans are still unclear, but some messages sent over the last few weeks remind members to show “pure pure rebellion.”

Sounds 50% Oswold Mosley and British Union Of Fascists and 50% Brad Pitt and Fight Club.

Given the cryptic nature of that "tasks to be revealed later" thing, I even wonder if it might all be a stunt by someone like Sasha Baron Cohen, and the "tasks" will all turn out to involve the performance of homerotic dance numbers.

Apparently the movement involves someone called John O'Looney. An undertaker, who couldn't attend the event because he's caught COVID. This _has_ to be a spoof or wind-up, surely?

But, it appears Mr O'Looney is real

Another one who wanted to wait and do more research before he got the vaccine.

A married California couple, who had been together since they were teens, died from COVID-19 complications just hours apart, report says

They leave four kids, two still teenagers.

Would it be horrible to donate $5 to their Gofundme so I could comment and say a kind word, like "if only there was a vaccine...".

Seems that we've swapped, as Antifa became a thing in the US in response to growing white nationalist groups, it seems that your side is gaining the American right wing militant mindset. Bummer. Hopefully your government will do more to curb their growth.

Maybe someday we can find a way to deploy vaccines via pills so we can take them monthly in our homes. I will get the 4th, 5th, 6th,nth until the dumbasses who keep the going all die off.

How about delivery through chemtrails? That would be epic, and then just start spraying from a given longitude/latitude and expand outwards... The flat earthers would end up with a real dilemma.

More covidiots among America's elite fighting force

I found these lines particularly cringeworthy:

"The Navy servicemembers in this case seek to vindicate the very freedoms they have sacrificed so much to protect," O'Connor wrote in his order.
The case was brought by Navy Seals who accused the Navy of having "disdain for religious vaccine accommodations," in contrast to "certain secular vaccine exemptions" -- like exemptions for medical reasons -- that had been granted

I'm sure the judge can describe exactly why other required vaccines are totally ok, but this particular one flies afoul of the constitution /S

This is the same nutty judge who said that because Congress made the individual mandate $0 that the ENTIRE ACA was therefore unconstitutional, even things like Medicaid expansion, regulation of medical devices, etc.

Basically right wing activists now go venue shopping for this judge because they can almost guarantee a super right wing ruling - they are a district judge though so their opinions mean very little. It will be overturned.

If not of course it raises some really interesting possibilities for the military. Don’t want to charge that machine gun nest? Maybe you developed a religious objection to it.

Killing is bad and it isn't why they joined the military and went through special forces training.....LOL

There's always been an organised far-right. Heck, opposing them is where antifa started, first in Germany, then here, before spreading to the US. But this current lot, with the emphasis on anti-vax stuff, seem quite peculiar, even by the standards of the far-right. They seem to be putting far more emphasis on "manliness" than on racism. Calling yourselves "Alpha men assemble" is into self-parody territory. Would _not_ be surprised if it were all a Sasha-Baron-Cohen-type prank.

That far-right seems to be evolving or mutating. Maybe each new variant needs to be labelled with Greek letters?

When you are a celebrity Antivaxxer, they are more likely to let your questionable medical exemption slide.

He previously organized a tennis tour during COVID while big tennis was shut down, without any precautions, creating a outbreak cluster:

Never heard of these guys:

"During the 1990s their facial features changed dramatically, leaving them with odd-looking chins, lips and cheek-bones. "We are proud of having faces like extra-terrestrials," they once said.
Grichka Bogdanoff was adamant that they had never had "what people call cosmetic surgery", insisting that he and his brother were experimental by nature and had tried out very advanced technology.

That was contradicted by their friend, former education minister Luc Ferry, who said they had both had Botox injections."

.............................................................................

Woah, Daddy, WTF did they do to their faces?

And what's with the ridiculous rugs.

You've never accidentally scrolled towards the bottom of a website with "sponsored" material? They tend to be pictured there quite regularly with "president ____ lowers your mortgage", "What does star _____ look like now?" type ads.

The Aussie Open doesn't have much choice (Djoker is THE draw for the entire tournament) but it's still lame. I don't watch a whole lot of tennis, but if Djoker breaks the all-time GS record, I'm unlikely to watch.

Can anyone here explain why someone like me, a 29 year old male with a normal BMI and no comorbidities, needs a vaccine that doesn't even stop transmission for a virus that at it's worst is basically a bad flu for someone with my circumstances? I know it's trendy to point the finger at every unvaccinated individual as an "antivaxxer science denier", but a lot of us just don't see the point. It also doesn't help that the official Covid narrative had changed so much before the first does were even available that I simply don't trust the media and all their self-appointed experts. I'm an "essential" worker who's also never been tested, either, and I'm fine after two years of this.
