A deputy district attorney from California who regularly spoke out against vaccine mandates has died of complications from Covid-19.
Kelly Ernby, 46, a prosecutor from Orange county, southern California, who recently ran for the state assembly, died after contracting the virus, her family and friends have said.
Kelly Ernby was unvaccinated at the time of her death.

And another one gone…

Edit: omg…
“According to a fellow member of FROG News, the final message Kuzma sent was a photo of himself with a “refill of ivermectin.”

These people really do live in a completely alternate reality:
Additionally, Kuzma appeared on podcasts with Mike Penny, another member of the Frog News network. Penny played a central role in helping promote the QAnon offshoot cult that traveled to Dallas in November under the belief that former President John F. Kennedy and his son were about to reappear.

These people are just another death-cult (as if ISIS wasn't sufficient). They are actively on the side of the virus.

One of Italy's premier immunology experts on coronavirus has been given police protection after she was sent a bullet inside a letter threatening her and her family.
Prof Antonella Viola was apparently targeted because of her public backing for children to be vaccinated.

it sounded like he messed up a form or filled out the wrong one , something that a star of his caliber usually gets to have overlooked , but with the public fervor maybe they had second thoughts, bureaucracies love using technicalities
There's been a variety of differing reporting, but it basically boils down to neither the federal or state governments wanted to allow him entry. The visa thing just seems like a pretext, because all reports claim the Border Force rejected his documents for medical exemption outright.

He gets a hearing before a judge on Monday, and hopefully the Aussies don't just cave at this point. World #1s usually get tons of special treatment. When he was DQ'd at the USO in 2020 for hitting a judge, they chatted with him for a long time as he tried to cajole his way out of the penalty. Any other player not named Federer would've just been DQ'd immediately.

I wasn't mad that Tennis Australia decided to give him an exemption, because he is THE draw for the tournament. Personally, I just wasn't going to watch the tournament. Having said that, I don't quite believe that their process of evaluating exemptions is completely anonymized. I don't know his medical chart, but the only plausible reason for an exemption is that he was COVID positive within the past 6 months. Quite probable for an anti-vaxxer.

Yep, it's previous covid infection a month ago, though probably not hard to fake for someone with his money and celebrity. And with this "legitimate" exemption and a team of lawyers he will probably be let in.

IMO, a previous infection exemption a very stupid loophole, that actively encourages antivaxxers to get infected:

Franzoni said he and colleagues are aware that some young people are deliberately attempting to catch COVID-19, with the ultimate goal of obtaining a "green pass" without being vaccinated against COVID-19.

Conservative media is still harping that things are "locked down" even when they aren't and never really were most places. Fox News does a lot of this and it's just utter nonsense.

Mostly if things are closed these days its just because too many workers are out sick with COVID for normal ops. I've got this happening in my business too.

Fox "news" and I use the term news lightly, will decry how Pres. Biden isn't doing enough to end the pandemic, while on the same newscast, will blame the libs for trying to take away their freedumbs by enforcing a mask mandate or urging vaccination. It's a shit show. It's been proven, that conservatives only care about a fake "freedom" narrative. When it suits them, they will contradict their so-called values in the same sentence they are spouting out about it.

Personal freedom and personal choice! My body, my choice! But if you're a second class citizen like a women, you don't get a choice. Businesses should be free to operate in the free economy and regulate themselves! But only their policies align with theirs. They'll pass laws to restrict businesses to make sure you can't prevent conservative idiots from being stupid.

Somewhere there is a cartoon of a fat, anti-mask and anti-vax guy complaining that Biden has not yet fixed the covid crisis. This is why we are still in the shit. People are goddamn idiots.

I think Biden is saying "fuck you, fix it yourselves". Ya know, like when Abbot asks for covid aid after preventing anyone from mandating masks and/or vaccines. The feds should tell Texas to go fuck off.

The conservative brain is so fucking broken that it can't even recognize this hypocrisy.

It's called Fox News.

Not a sock puppet, and it's been stated before that the vaccine doesn't stop the spread and only somewhat reduces symptoms, which defeats the "selfishness" argument, since it's literally a personal choice at that point. Just look at all of the Omicron cases in fully vaccinated people.

Edit: As a side note, how is it selfish to not take the shot if I feel the potential side effects for a younger male (myocarditis, muscle spasms, etc) are not worth it? I have no recourse if something in the shot fucks me up. Isn't it selfish to threaten people's livelihood for making a personal decision involving their health? Where's the concern for obese people or anyone else making unhealthy lifestyle choices using up hospital resources?

You state it, doesn't mean it's correct.

Vaccinated means, yes less symptoms, but also less likely to get infected, and if infected, quicker recovery, so shortening the window in which you are infectious. That reduces spread.

Also not to forget if you have milder symptoms, you are not soaking up limited and expensive medical resources.

Who pays for your hospital stay? Are you paying 100%, or do you just expect others to pay your way because you are being a bitch about a needle for a cheap and plentiful vaccine? Talk about entitlement.

Lastly, as far as side effects go, those rare side effects you list are also a side effect of infection, but much more intense. Making a risk argument still makes no sense when the risk differential is still better for vaccination.

Omicron may have shifted the balance a bit, but if you've been unvaccinated this long, let's not pretend you've been holding out based on a principled, scientific argument.

This woman invented a whole new form of covidiocy. And she's a teacher?

A Houston mother has been charged after allegedly placing her 13-year-old son in the trunk of her car in an attempt to isolate him after he tested positive for Covid-19, then took him to a drive-thru testing site.

SI doesn't think AU will let him in, because the federal and/or state governments must sponsor his visa. Their entry rules are crystal clear, you must be vaccinated and I'm very pleased their government listened to its people. Although I'm not a fan of the Djoker, I recognize him already as the men's tennis GOAT. I do feel for him a little bit because most of the fault lies with Tennis Australia for playing favorites. He hopped onto a long-haul flight in good faith; if he loses his appeal on Monday, technically he's awarded a 3 year entry ban. It's likely AU will reduce that ban, because Tennis Australia's actions are a mitigating circumstance.

And agreed, considering he's king of Serbia, getting a fake positive PCR test result would be trivial. Personally I hope he loses his appeal, because otherwise it'll be an even bigger shit show. Also, I know he'll end his career with more GS titles than any man in history, but it'd be nice if the record-breaker can wait just a bit longer.

Are they crystal clear? For Australia they list previous infection with Covid as valid reason for medical exemption, which is stupid, but it appears to be the rule.

For Djoker to have a visa with a valid exemption, here's the applicable clause:
You may be considered for an individual travel exemption by the Commissioner of the Australian Border Force or decision makers if you are:

  • a foreign national whose entry into Australia would be in the national interest, supported by the Australian Government or a state or territory government authority
Djoker had a medical exemption to play in the tournament. He didn't have a valid entry visa, which you're actually supposed to have before boarding the plane. Djoker is somewhat a victim of domestic politics, but by the letter of the law, he's getting deported unless the federal or state government flips.

Depends on if his high priced lawyers get him in. The wealthy have an obvious advantage fighting anything.

Here is another one being deported. But she was already in the country for days, and this situation probably brought more scrutiny. It really looks like a bunch of people confused about the rules.

“I did everything they asked me to do. Apparently, Tennis Australia has misled us, which is annoying,” she said.

TA had told players that a recent COVID-19 infection was grounds for a medical exemption from the vaccine.

It has since been revealed TA was told multiple times by federal health officials, including Health Minister Greg Hunt, that advice does not apply to unvaccinated travellers.

In Australia, less than 4% of the people have had COVID.
Compare that to;
In the USA, more than 18% of the people have had COVID.

Anti-Vax people are something else
tldr:

- Trans women will be intimately familiar with two of these medications: spironolactone and finasteride, both of which are used to suppress testosterone. these are levels comparable or even above what many trans women take

I wonder what kind of strange conversation takes place between doctor and patient for these 'alternative therapies'... "I need the proper treatment for covid, but not the scientifically recommended one that the lefties like, I need the other one"?

what happened to hydroxychloroquine? It used to be the miracle drug that Fauci was keeping away from real Americans to kill them and now it’s not even part of the treatment?

Probably the price went way up due to Biden's failed economic policies and wide open southern border, they need all their wages to pay for gas for their trucks.

I had a co-worker out last week with covid. I would have sworn he would have been a strict anti-vaxxer, I was wrong. He came back today and he had all 3 Pfizer shots which surprised me, I guess his wife being an oncological nurse she influenced him.

The scary part to me was that he still had two days that he felt like utter dog crap, and he looks a bit weak and shaky today, and gets out of breath walking to the break room. These are the type of stories that I don't like to hear. The respiratory effects are the scariest to me, and stories like his don't help the because the anti-vaxxers say "see! didn't do him any good!" although he may have died otherwise without the vaccine.
