I'm to the point where I'm ok with all the anti-vaxx nutjobs going without getting vaccinated. So long as they also refrain from taking any other "new" vaccines that come along for cancer/ebola/whatever.
Oh, they now question the smallpox and those other "extinct diseases" vaccines. The percentage of vaccinations is already at or below the threshold of herd protection....

Around here they are saying everyone is dying from the vaccines. They are causing heart attacks and deaths. I asked if those same people dying had covid at one point and the answer is always yes. Doh!

From the linked article.

"The anti-malaria drug was prescribed to some patients hospitalized with COVID-19 during the first wave of the pandemic, "despite the absence of evidence documenting its clinical benefits," the researchers point out in their paper, published in the February issue of Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy."

"Prescribed"
I wonder how many of those Prescriptions Trump wrote?

I'm curious.. if your car has a breakdown.. and you can't figure it out.

If you're desperate for your car to work and the President says.. "put cooking oil into your transmission fluid" what do you have to lose?

And you take his advice.

Who's at fault?

What does changing a tire have to do with anything?
If I'm making 500k a year, that's $250/hr. It's cheaper to pay someone to do it for you than if it interrupts your work (or prevents you from doing something you're more interested in).

Why doesn't someone do X largely comes down to time, money, and technology.

If you have the money but not the time, you pay someone else to do it for you.
If you have time but not money (or you enjoy it as a hobby) you DIY
If technology has progressed so far that the knowledge is largely not needed across the population, your society is doing great!

Why don't people know how to work on cars so much anymore? Cause they don't fucking break like they used to!

That is all fine and good until.

1. Your are in the middle of nowhere.

2. You have a flat tire.

3. Your cell phone is dead.

4. You have a flat tire and have no idea how to change it.

Disagree with you here.. they break as much if not more now as there are many more failure points.

But not to thread jack from the original topic.. I was saying.. people don't have common sense anymore and so they listen to Orange Jesus!

I think you should talk to your fellow GOP voters my man, lol.

Cool strawman though.

What you said in 4540 is pretty much the same thing, I was just using sarcasm to mock you again, but you know that, right? Lel

That's not what was going on there so not even sure why you're making that argument. Plus, the issue is the Fox News jackasses are the type that would question your masculinity over dumb trivial shit. They're the type that would make up stories about bonding with their dads as they were taught to change a car tire or oil or other minor car maintenance and then use that to say how damaging single parent (women) is to raising men and that's why there's so many angry young men. They're the type saying how Millennials are dumb shits that don't know how to do simple things (that Millennials would've had little reason to ever learn), etc.

People assumed he had been told be the top medical people in the country that it worked. People didn't know he was spouting complete bullshit. But the medical industry in an attempt to do something followed him down the rabbit hole.

Problem with that is that many medical doctors got "trumpitis" (or something like it), like the one referred here.

This sort of thing makes people lose trust in medical doctors, and that IS NOT a good thing, @ ALL.

It's not good at all, but if you look at what his preferred tribe offers, it's pretty much "do you own research" and distrust of anything that makes them feel uncomfortable. Hey, but we like Trump cuz he tells it like it is, many people are saying! (10's of thousands of lies later, still vote for him)

It's not like Trump said one thing one time, he continually blasts his followers with disinformation of any topic at hand. During COVID, it was all day everyday with blatant lies.

Sowing distrust is a feature, not a bug.

Then what should you listen to POTUS about?
At least as far as large scale societal health problems like a pandemic go, we should be able to trust our leaders to give us factual information. This is not like direct personal medical advice, COVID19 was/is a societal issue. People expected the President was giving societal level advice concerning it, whether individuals taking certain medical treatments would benefit society the most or not, not individual medical advice.
