Same. I took all the COVID shots and booster every year, and have not had COVID. I am more careful because I have a family member that takes immune system suppressing drugs (also hasn't had COVID).

Same here too. Similarly, my wife has a respiratory illness that requires us to be vigilant around folks within our vicinity of whom may be infectious. Masks on whenever we're in a crowd.

It cites the slower increase in cases in the second wave in early October 2020 as being evidence that the pandemic is 'over'.

The main point from these graphs is the trend line. The rising number of cases and deaths is proceeding 4x more slowly now than in the spring. This doesn’t prove that we are nearing the end state, but this observation is consistent with that concept.

Seems to me that what happened after that article was posted in October 2020 suggests that claim was not really accurate. Even more so as the writer bangs on about how unnecessary vaccines are, and the actual figures reflect what happened in the presence of a mass vaccination program.

Depressingly typical that the writer never came back to acknowledge they'd been so horrifyingly overconfident.

Regarding masking? Influenza cases were markedly down to 1,316 cases during Sept 2020 to January 2021.
From 130,000 cases the previous year during the same time.
Experts are saying this was most likely due to the masking and distancing rules.

Regarding the vaccines? From the 2 billion shots that were given, the lives saved were anywhere from 14M to nearly 20M people, globally.
