Time for Romo to deliver some more justice !!

Although I must admit I am a tad concerned 'bout the Saints offensive line.

"With the Cowboys and Saints each holding a two-game lead in their respective divisions, a win for either team will mean an advantage in the race for a first-round bye."

Justice?! What kind of hallucinogen are you on?

I've always thought of football as a rule-of-law type of game, but there ain't no justice in football.

Good point.

But the Cowboys are going to win the Super Bowl baby. Win the Super Bowl.

Haha we'll see. There's little doubt that this will be a good game whatever team you pull for.

This could be one of the best games of the year. Two very high flying offenses with lots of flash and dazzle on both sides.

It's going to be a fun night.

Two high-powered offenses, but Dallas has a FAR superior defense, and its being played in Dallas.

Should be a solid victory for TR

Actually, if the Cowboys can run the ball first, that's probably a better path to victory. Especially since we don't have Hollis Thomas. :disgust:

I still have no idea WTF happened---I know what they say happened: weasel words from all sides (the player, the team, and the league), probably due to contractual obligation.

Anyway, yeah, the passing game should be fun, assuming nobody has a case of the dropsies, which T.O. can have, but so can Devrey Henderson and Terrence Copper. (Praise $DEITY if Colston is able to play.)

Dallas does have a better defense, but not against the pass. Our weakness is run defense. Romo might be good, but that doesn't guarantee jack. Besides, don't tell me that Romo substantially better than Brees, who is a proven commodity. It can go either way (or both ways). (So, how do those words I'm putting in your mouth taste? )

statistically the saints might have a better pass defense, but honestly, I can't name a player in their secondary, whereas Dallas' is pretty well heralded.

Both QBs are playing great football. Should be the two representing the NFC in the pro bowl. The question is...who is the starter??

Mike McKenzie is likely the only one you've heard of (acquired by 2004 trade from Green Bay). He'd been getting a bunch of razz until last week, when he had two picks.

That's what? Your 5th beer? Cowboys? The Super Bowl? Parcells?

I watched the Saints' last game and Reggie Bush was promoted by the announcers as a "secret weapon!" 4 Goddamn touchdowns and a secret weapon! Pretty funny. I don't watch every NFL game, but I'll watch tonight. I say "the Saints beat the Cowboys." The old dynasties in the NFL seldom if ever recover anything like quickly, is my sense of it. How long did it take the Packers or the Steelers to resurge? They dream on in S.F. and Oakland of a resurgence, but it hasn't materialized. Once it's gone, it's gone and other teams have their day... maybe, depends on the team. The Cowboys? If so it would be a return to glory. So soon, I don't think so.

Well, first off, Dallas never has huge 'dead' periods that they aren't good - they were probably the 2nd best team of the 70s, they had strong years in the 80s, best team of the 90s....plus, they've improved greatly over the Bill Parcells era.

Also, you act like Parcells isn't known for championships? He won two with the Giants, and went to another with the Patriots, remember?

Since I'm procrastinating from doing my work, I'll compare them position-position

QB: wash
RB: Saints
WR: Cowboys
TE: Cowboys
O-Line: wash (dallas oline took a lot of heat, but mysteriously that has disappeared since bledslow was benched)
D-Line: Cowboys
LB: Cowboys
Secondary: Cowboys
Coach: Cowboys

There ya have it

I love faith... and ale. I might even hit a Guiness during the game.

I'm not saying Parcells can't win championships. There's plenty of coaches (most) about whom you can't say they've won championships, and I realize Bill isn't one of them. But I don't think of him as a guy whose presense is almost ominous in terms of making them a championship level team. Who is? Maybe noone, nowadays anyway. He might be top 10, but I don't think top 5, is my sense of it. He did retire from coaching, right? At least once?

OK, but I'll add a category or two:

Momentum: Saints
Post-catastrophe intangible: Saints

Yes, post 9/11 didn't seem to do much for the Giants and Jets, so maybe it won't for the Saints all in all. But Katrina is different...

Do these have much to do with this game? Maybe not, but I'll be thinking of them.

Just from watching games this season I get the sense that the cowboys may have a better balanced team than the saints, but I also believe that they're outmatched on offense. I haven't heard if we'll see Horn or Colston today though and they figure in heavily in my estimation.

Well, as far as momentum goes, Dallas has won 5 of 6 since Romo took over, including knocking off the previously unbeaten Colts. I'd say they are rollin' pretty well at this point.
