Two high-powered offenses, but Dallas has a FAR superior defense, and its being played in Dallas.
Should be a solid victory for TR
You sure had the outcome of this game pegged from the beginning .

Strahan is injured, not benched.
It's not odd in any way.
I'm lost here...

Saints are on an amazing run. Hope Drew Brees can keep it up.
IIf you aren't impressed with Bush, you are in denial. LT is phenomenal, agreed. IMO, they're bringing Reggie along slowly intentionally. Those passes out into the flat are perfect for him. If he stays healthy, he'll come into his own. He's not all that small (206 lb.). Did you see the stuff he was doing at USC? He's amazing.Originally posted by: BrokenVisage
Oh give me a break.. he had ONE good game against a horrible defense, and TD's scattered here and there. LT is a thoroughbred, maybe you seen him break the TD record earlier today. Bush is still a kid and has to do A LOT more consistently to impress me.

First post here and what a great thread for it to be in.
I am a born and raised N?awlins boy. I?ve been a Saints fan my entire life, through the ?aint?s? days, through the paper bag days, through our 3-13 season last year when it looked like New Orleans was going to loose the Saints. What I saw last night and throughout this season is something I have never seen from the Saints. We have had plenty of weapons in past years but something was always missing.
Ladies and gentlemen you are finally seeing the Saints play as a TEAM and oh how sweet it is. Very few people (at least on the national level) took the Saints seriously prior to last night. One of the announcers even stated at one point ?Maybe the Saints are for real?. Before the season how many people predicted the Saints would be a 9-4 ball club coming off a 3-13 season? Who would have thought the Saints would all but clinch the division with 4 games left to play? How many would have thought that you would read this on Espn.com about the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS ?Now they're the No. 2 seed in the conference, with a two-game lead in the NFC South with three to play and an 8-1 conference record.? Heck, how many of YOU would have thought the Saints would hand Dallas a 42-17 trouncing last night?
Why the turnaround? Brees? Reggie? No. It is 100% coach Payton. Don?t get me wrong, we picked up some outstanding players this year but it was Payton that finally turned this club into a TEAM. Not only that but the man is a genius at play calling. Last night was the first time the student went up against the teacher (Payton and Parcells) and the student handily outcoached the teacher. Not to say that we haven?t had some growing pains this year but I think the media and the rest of the NFL finally knows that YES the Saints are for real.
What a great day to be a Saints fan. Heck, what a great YEAR to be a Saints fan!

ROFLMAO! Being a Cowboys fan, to say the turnaround is 100% Payton is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You guys wouldn't be anything without Brees and Reggie. Reggie is amazing no doubt, but Brees provides the leadership to this team. Was never a big fan of him in SD, but he's doing very well in SD. I'm not saying Payton has nothing to do with it, but Payton sure as hell isn't 100% why they're turned around. Give me a fvcking break.

Well, just about everyone who was watched the Saints for more then a few seasons disagrees with you. We have had good QB?s in the past and never have we looked so well. Never have they plaid as an entire team as they are now. Not to downplay Drew Brees?s performance but that doesn?t change the fact that your wrong. Sean Payton is responsible for the team you see today. He is the one who had the foresight to pick Brees up even though he was coming off a shoulder surgery. He is the one who brought the team together. He is the reason why you are seeing virtual ?no-bodies? stepping up and having great games and he is the one that masterfully play called that game last night that made the Cowboys look like a second rate team.

Darwin,
Congratulations! Seriously, you are to be commended for not being a fair weather fan, having stuck with the Saints through thick (and as you know, it was never very thick) and thin (very thin indeed).
Peyton's a huge part of NO's success now, I agree. Last night his play calling was inspired, imaginative. He thought a lot before the game and came up with a lot of ideas, it's clear. The 4th and one play was known to the players earlier in the week. I think that onsides kick was planned in advance, and Peyton threw it in for the hell of it. He had Brees kneel down at the 2 minute warning because he had begun to feel embarassed to be beating the Cowboys so badly. The game was really over after 3 quarters.
Don't give Peyton all the credit. They are very much a team and Brees is a huge part of that success. They got the right guy there. I was very impressed with him last year in SD. He'd still be there if he hadn't torn his labrum. I had surgery for a torn labrum, and I know that rehab from that is tough. He's a hero to me and his playing is a joy to behold. He doesn't remind me of anybody - his play takes my breath away. Reggie Bush is IMO about as exciting a player as there is in the NFL and will be for a while if he stays healthy. Go Saints!

So without Bush and Brees, the Saints wouldn't still be a bottom dwelling, ass sucking team like they have been? Doubtful.

Brokenvisage,
The Saints had McCallaster before Bush, and he's a big tough running back. Bush is the new guy. Part of the dynamic is that Bush didn't want to be perceived as pushing Duece aside. I don't think there's a running back in the league who can run into the line of scrimmage successfully without big help from his O line. I think that Bush's lack of success there is because the Saints' O line isn't producing the holes that Reggie needs, and I think that may change over time. I wouldn't blame Reggie for that. He's best as an open field runner, but if the holes open up wide enough, even the center of the line is fodder for a great open field runner. Time will tell with Reggie.
