A few months ago I had my parents computer hooked up to my router (Belkin f5d8235-4 v2) with a Ethernet cable. Both my computer and theirs were connected to the router. I had my parents computer at my place because it had viruses. I told them it was like a 14yr old boys computer, but no p*rn!
As I was working on their computer I got a popup on my computer from Cox saying there was a specific virus on my computer. (they were seeing my parents computer on the network I would guess) I Do Not have any software from Cox on my computer. So the question I have is how they would be able to send me a message through my router firewall and Microsoft's windows 7 firewall, and what can I do so they can't do that again? BTW remote access is turned off on my computer.
thanks for your time!
