I guess I find this ridiculous because gaming is not a sport. Personally never having done meth, seeing it's effects on various TV programs I would have a hard time believing that its an advantage of some kind. Uncontrollable shaking isn't generally good for CS.

I could definitially see how meth or coke could give you the edge in gaming. That being said I have to agree with jrenz.

People will make anything competitive into some kind of professional league. I'm sure some people think professional poker is ridiculous.

Haha this reminds me of the Entourage episode where Turtle entered a gaming touney and all the guys said they test for drugs. When he showed up the chick and everybody laughed as he asked about the piss test for drugs. Of course he then got beat by a 12 year old in about 23 seconds haha.

Certain Drugs might give an edge, but Meth and some others might also work against the User.

Gamers already got their perfectly Legal "Edge". It's called Jolt Cola, Chips, and sugary Candy. Just keep consuming that stuff and you play better and better.

If they are really worried about meth, I don't think they need a drug test to determine who is and isn't a user, a dental exam might be more telling.

I think more than anything this is going to unfairly target pot smokers as with pretty much every other drug test, since it stays in the system much longer.

Funny you should mention this. I have a friend who is a professional pocker player and he gets tested for drugs at some major tournaments.
