Let me start by saying that I have not done any thermal compound application before so all I have to go on is guides that I have seen/read
I recently purchased this CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501
And this Cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185175
And I want to make sure that when I do the installation I correctly apply the thermal paste.
The most popular method I've seen online is to just apply a drop the size of a grain of rice or BB pellet in the middle and then place the cooler and this will spread it automatically.
I've also heard that some intel CPUs have specific instructions though, and I couldn't find any on my own so I'd like to get feedback from you folks on what the best option is, thanks!
