I have a evo 212 that I bought years ago that lags behind what i wanna do for my x5650 @4ghz, So I was wondering what a cost efficient air cooling or water cooling solution would be that would be a great step up from the 212.
I've got a kraken x61 on my x5660. It does 4.2 ghz easily. Idle temps are 28c I've never seen much over 50c running handbrake. I could probably go higher pretty easily I just haven't. Don't really need too.
Cost:Approx. $170 for cpu-only loop.
Effectiveness:Will cool anything with res water approx 6-11c below ambient.
If you want cooler you will need a TEC or phase-change or chiller.
