CPU fan direction

Dumb Question, would like to hear your thoughts: Should a CPU Fan blow in or out from the Heat sink.

It should blow in.

But also ensure that you're getting good cool air venting INTO your case as well or else all you're doing is re-circulating the hot case air.

Well what HS do you have? Cuz results will vary, some like to blow, some like to suck. You can try reversing whatever you have it set to right now and see if your temps go down. I myself have the ThermalRight SK6 which gives better results with the fan blowing onto the HS.

It depends on the type of heatsink you have. Most heatsinks are blowing into, unless they have a special shroud over the heatsink that helps the airflow when sucking. A good example would be the Alpha's that suck, they have a sort of skirt around the heatsink so that it forces the air to enter at the bottom, thus providing better air flow.

Does anyone Know for sure which mb sensors to use for cpu and case, using Mb monitor-5. The board is a Tekram p6pro-A+ v1.03.

shroud = suck, if not, it blows

also, fan adapter = suck

Ive used a fan adapter before, its not bad. With most hsf's you want them blowing inward, its your safest bet or just test it out either way.

U never say wht HSF u r using but most HSF blow towards the CPU. As far as I know...only Alpha HSF sucks air from the CPU.

The hsf I'm using on my p3 is a vanteck with dual fans, It just seems to me that it would be more efficient it it was sucking the hot air from the heat sink. I may try it the other way.
