im using an older case for a new setup.
heres the situation:
looking from the top down, the power supply is directly above the HSF, with a little less than 1 cm of space between them. now i know this is definately not looking good for cooling my cpu, but being on a budget, i needed to save money, so the case was one of the places i decided to cut corners.
now my question... im planning on installing a case fan connected to a flexible 3'' air duct (ususally used for HVAC purposes), and somehow fixing it to the side of the heatsink... and my question, would it be better for me to have the cpu fan blowing ON to the cpu or AWAY from the cpu? keeping in mind that the fan has no real airflow coming to it because of the lack of space... there is a grill on the side of the power supply where the fan is, so i thought this would be useful in helping to carry the hot air out of the case if the cpu fan was blowing out.... im going to ask a friend to bring his digital camara tomorrow so i can get a picture of the situation... but i hope my description is enough to elicit some responses...
thanks in advance!
