CPU fan stops on its own

Had an issue with this a couple months ago so I called Gigabyte and Intel. Intel sent a new fan, and then I updated to the newest bios F12. New fan is on there, and it is still stopping. I have loaded the fail safe and optimized settings in the bios also.

Any thoughts? I have a service ticket in at Gigabyte but I wont hear anything till next week.

Well if I am reading the right manual heres a copy/paste if you go into you bios and disable the FAN Speed Control Method you fan should be running full speed at all times which isnt the default action.

FAN Speed Control Method (Note)
Auto BIOS sets the optimal CPU fan speed automatically. (Default Value)
Intel(R) QST Control the fan speed with Intel® QST (Intel® Quiet System Technology).
Legacy CPU fan runs at different speed depending on CPU temperature.
Disable CPU fan runs at full speed.
FAN Speed Control Mode
Auto BIOS autodetects the type of CPU fan you installed and sets the optimal fan
speed control mode for it. (Default Value)
Voltage Set to Voltage when you use a CPU fan with a 3-pin fan power cable.
PWM Set to PWM when you use a CPU fan with a 4-pin fan power cable.
Note: In fact, the Voltage option can be used for CPU fans with 3-pin or 4-pin power cables.
However, some 4-pin CPU fan power cables are not designed following Intel 4-Wire fans PWM
control specifications. With such CPU fans, selecting PWM will not effectively reduce the fan
speed.

ok, that makes sense. However, with that stated it still should optimize performance since it is a 4 wire fan on the Core 2 6400. The only thing it states is that it may not reduce the fan speed effectively NOT TURN IT OFF COMPLETELY!!!

I believe this is normal. My E6750's fan starts and stops a few times following startup when system is idle....

Run Orthos. If fan comes back on, then it's working properly.
