CPU fan/temps troubling

I have an AMD xp2100 on an Asus A7V266 E motherboard. I have been running the Asus probe utility to monitor my temps and fan speeds. I just installed 2 new case fans to replace the old one that was loud and not working well, so I got some new ones.

Currently I have one on the lower front as intake and on the upper rear below the PSU as exhaust. My motherboard temps are as follows
29 C / 84 F
and the CPU temps are
61 C / 141 F

This is under about an average load of net use and music. I have noticed a lot of variation in these fan speeds on all 3 fans (2 case fans and heatsink fan) They are all plugged in and being run off of the motherboard, is there a power issue or any reason for concern that these fans are variable in speed? BTW, the PSU I am currently running is an Antec Truepower 430.

What did you get for new fans?? Your case/mobo temp seems fine, I'd be a bit concerned about the processor temp though.

The new fans are FAN COOLINGFAN MASSCOOL from newegg. Here is the link to them.FANS

I got 3 of them, using 2. I replaced an original ball bearing fan that was REALLY loud and added one to the front for intake. The heatsink is whatever originally came with it, I have no idea really what it is. It seems to be alright now that I blew all of the dust out of it, but it;s definitely nothing special. Should I consider replacing the heatsink?

I'd be very surprised if the fans actually push the listed ~31CFM considering their cost and all.

Since you listed temps under a light load, you should be cooler than that. I'd say it's time to try a different processor cooler, or start saving up for when your processor pops from overheating. Also, did you check the spec's of the fans that you replaced? They could have been pushing more air, hence the more noise coming out of them.

What's your processor temp at idle? How about under heavy load?

What? Speeze/MassCool owns. Get one of their WhisperRock II's + Arctic Silver 5. You can't get much cheaper or quieter than that (and they can supposedly keep a 3000+ Socket A at a decent temp).

Is the temps really that bad for this CPU??

When I first started having troubles that was one of the first things I checked was my CPU temps. It was originally at like 158 or 160 because there was so much dust and I never noticed the problem. Took an air compressor to it and cleaned it out, now my temps range from about 129 F / 49 C ? and 60 C 141 F.

I am guessing this is not good, however it has been running like that for any number of days/weeks/months and I would have no idea of how long. I dont seem to have any damage to the processor at all, that i am aware of.
I have another CPU, exactly the same, (AMD xp2100) with a thermaltake volcano 5 (i think) heat sink on it with arctic silver 5 compound joining it, is this something I should try to switch out? I've read that it's very difficult to remove the old thermal compound and apply new, so should i just switch CPU's all together?

Hell, just get a WhisperRock II + AS5. You'll be fine with that, and no 60C is not a preferred CPU temp (for AMD).

If I recall properly, My XP3000+ was running low to mid 40's at idle, and no more than about 55C at full load. Any time it went over 55C I'd let it cool down. I think I even set the mobo/bios reboot point to 65C so that it would protect the processor for over heating.
