cpu is too hot now! what to do?

I have a 300W PS with an Athlon XP1800+ and applied arctic silver 2 when i got it (approx. 5 months ago) and temps got as high as 50. Now they are constantly in the 54-63 range depending on how hot it gets. I have 3 fans in there, including the one for the power supply, and obviously the heatsink/fan. Any suggestions? I'm guess reapplying AS2 but how does one go about doing that? Will more powerful fans help to? Case Modding to promote more air flow?

Reapplying the AS2 likely would help some. Also, make sure to clean all of the dust from your fans and heatsink. Over a period of time it will degrade cooling as it builds a nice insulation layer over your heatsink fins, fan blades, etc...

I'm running just as hot as you are with my 1800+ (Brand new in my case). I ordered it retail, so I'm using the supplied heatsink/fan. My previous HS, a coolmaster, on a 1.33 ran around 45 average, so I'm considering swapping the HS. According to AMD's website, these things should be fine up to 90C. What's anybody's opinion on this? Thanks in advance.

I tru to keep my XP and T-bird rigs no more than 41-42° C max @ full load. Remember that almost all of the socket A mainboards out there are still using a thermistor and not reading the temp diode built into the XP.
