Laptop HP Omnibook 6000. 700mhz, 256mb ram, 12gb hdd.
I installed newest Bios.
I had to disable "speedstep" in bios to get xp pro to load.
Everything is very stable, but slow. I know that adding ram, etc. will improve it. My problem is that after disableing "speedstep" now the cpu is only clocking at 550mhz. I downloaded a program that runs in a dos window that if it is correct, verifies this.
How can I get my cpu back to 700mhz? If I enable speedstep, the computer locks up or won't boot.
TIA,
