thanks guys... yeah, I am just posting one wrong piece of info after another about my current PC
I *thought* I had bought it in 2006 but clearly I was mistaken, I probably bought it in Spring 2010, it's still 7 years old. The computer is not slow or holding me up but still 7 years is old, the PS and HDD are original and could give up the ghost anytime.
In any case, building a new PC is a fun project so I thought why not.. $900 isn't going to kill me even if I don't really "need" to upgrade.

The CPU and MB combo i'm getting for $430 from Microcenter so the total is more like $883, I think that's quite a good price, what do you think?
Feel free to comment. For now, I am going to do a swap of my Sapphire Radeon 6670 PCIe 2.0 card into the new box and I will get a new video card later if I find it's necessary. As I said i'm not a gamer
