Do you know where these forums are hosted? The cloud. That's right. You are posting content too, and retrieving it from, the dreaded cloud. Right here, right now, in realtime. And, dare I say, loving it
Yeah, and how much work does any of us get done here? Right.
The "cloud" makes sense for applications that are inherently about information or communication. Nothing has really changed in this regard in decades except for the specific technologies. I mean, the phone system was "the cloud" back in the 1960s or whatever.
Give the cloud 10yrs to mature and you'll be wondering what you did before it ever came along.
I'm sure that lots of uses for it will develop over the next ten years.
I'm also pretty confident that in ten years people who need to get serious work done, or who want to game seriously, will be doing it on their own machines.
