Hello Everyone
Just yesterday I started receiving this warning: "Warning VCORE AT 1.55V"

So I take it that is about the CPU?? does that probaly mean that mu CPU fan is slowing down some or maybe the CPU paste has got to be changed??

My system is a few yrs old now but here it is and I did build it.

ASUS P8Z68-V LE, i5-25OOK @ 3.3 GHZ (STOCK) LGA-1155

btw, I'm using the ASUS software that came with the mobo for CPU detection.

Thanks for helping, James

jeez, how did your Vcore end up at 1.55V? assuming the warning message is correct.
It's alarmingly high I would say, and completely unnecessary for stock speeds.

It means that your processor is being fed 1.55 volts. Which will shorten the life span of it.
You should check the bios to see if the information is correct. If it is, you should change the V-core/VID back to normal/default/auto. And then check if its lower.

"I'm using the ASUS software that came with the mobo for CPU detection."

You're not doing yourself any favors using the software that came with it. It would seem that settings are too high..

What software should I use? and what should the voltage be since 1.55 is to high?

Under severe load conditions -- stress-testing, certain games and benchmarks -- the i5-2500K should never reach a vCORE greater than 1.38V. That's just my opinion; many SB-K users may run it as high as 1.41V on this processor. But 1.38 was the "maximum safe" value for a 32nm processor that preceded Sandy Bridge. I don't think "maximum safe" is included anymore in Intel specs.

I think it is likely that VCORE was either set too high initially, or that fiddling with the ASUS Windows software caused it to change. I understand what people mean when they discourage use of ASUS Suite and its "Turbo EVO" overclocking tool, if that's what it's called these days. I chose to use it very deliberately, and I did my tuning in BIOS -- not in Turbo EVO. I eventually turned off access to the EVO tool.

The high voltage reading could also be from some other cause. But this is just my suspicion. Lord knows how long you've been running the processor at that voltage, if the reported voltage still approximates actual.

basically, you just want to set the bios back to default settings. If it is, and the timings are correct and the numbers are the same. Don't freak out about it, could be the sensor has gone bad or your power supply has a major problem. I'd guess it would be a sensor in the chip has gone bad. Temp Sensors in chips can go bad as well or not accurate giving the wrong readings.
