Might need to rebuild the house first or buy a new one after the fire caused by the water cooler burned the first one down. Those living in apts. had better have EXCELLENT insurance.

I have this kit - it works just fine.

Comes with mounts for AMD / P3 and P4 cpu's, silicone tubing with"non-kink" internal springs, and compression fittings on the resevoir and cpu block. The pump is a 110v submersible, mounted in the resevoir - you do have to cut the pump wire and feed it through a compression grommet in the resevoir lid; then splice the wires together again. I initially thought that was pretty lame until I got a Radio Shack "Experimenter's Box", and put the splice inside with a switch - I can still run the pump after the system shut-down.

The radiator simply has 3/8 pipe threads on the inlet / outlet tubes - you can buy fittings, or use clamps over the hose. It has 2 Senfu 80mm 12v fans. I just mounted mine over the rear fans of my 1040 case, with a foam gasket; replaced the fans with a pair of 110v fans I had, and wired them into the aforementioned switch box. Since it's mounted on the outside, I'm not losing any sleep worrying about leaks.

The cpu block has an aluminum base, with 14 embedded copper fins (about 1.5" x 2.0") inside a clear plastic jacket that's screwed on with a silicone sealing gasket. Extra gaskets are provided for the block and resevoir lid.

You get what you pay for - this was a fair bit better than I expected.

IMO - the "Fire / Flood" commentary is irrelevent, except perhaps in the case of the terminally stupid and / or incompetent; thus tossing another log on Darwin's fire . . .

I bought one of these a while back. I set it up exactly like the directions said. Next thing I knew, my apartment caught on fire. Now I have to live inside of a cardboard box I found in the dumpster outside of Kmart. They even impounded my car to pay for the damage

Thanks for nothing, "Hot Deals"

i've always been interested in water cooling, but always reluctant to start the project. How efficient is a setup like this? And how much would it cost if you going to build a water cooling setup of this caliber by yourself?

The thing about water-cooling and overclocking is you should do it yourself. If you buy a mediocre watercooling kit and are serious about overclocking you will regret it. You will end up replacing the entire thing piece by piece with better parts. I bought a mediocre kit once and eventually ended up building my own reservoir/pump, replacing the radiator, getting a better copper block, etc. I should have just bought the Dangerden kit and been done with it. It's more money, but great quality.

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter, I believe. It will trip whenever it gets grounded (/wet) and won't send current anymore. Also, I have never heard of a water cooling setup burning anything, sicne it's a fish tank pump. I have seen TEC's burn stuff, but this kit definitely doesn't have one at this cheap price. For this price, you get what you pay for. Good kits from DangerDen are gonna run $200+, so you are paying for quality with this deal. Also, you are supposed to run these seperate for at least 2 days to leak test.

Can't help but agree with you, xDrAGoNx (I guess that's why you are a Senior Member here at AT).

Oooops! Credit where due!

How would this work for a video card, ala 9800 Pro? I have a Thermaltake Aquarius II cooling my P4. It's not a serious overclocking rig but does the job at keeping it cooler while being extremely quiet.

Thanks for agreeing, but I'm not xDrAGoNx. (and I'm not even a senior member.)
