Non-intuitively, a good place to by C2032 is the local 99 cent stores; reason - they are fresh cause they sell lots of em cause the price is right.
Careful. My mom is the discount and $1 store queen, she will buy ANYTHING if it is discounted and does not possess a bit of skepticism about it (being from a generation that predates the globalism/Chinese importation trend).
She came home once with what appeared to be a store-brand packaged two-pack of "Duracell Ultra" 9V batts, minus any store branding on the outer package. I had never seen Duracell-branded batts packaged like this, and something about them looked a little funny to me, so I contacted Duracell USA and asked if they have problems with counterfeit products in general, and about this package in particular. I sent them a photo of the package (front and back), along with the store name.
They replied back that, yes, there is a problem with counterfeit Duracell products (El Cheapo Chinese batts being branded as Duracell), no they could not say for sure whether the batts were such, but it looked suspect to them based on their knowledge of permitted Duracell repackaging and packaging agreements with retailers.
Pretty much every "premium" brand that is recognizable or popular in the USA has a problem with counterfeit products. Tide, Rubbermaid, Crest, ANY premium brand you care to name.
