Flavor... Good crab by a hair. But, you get to eat your meal with lobster. With crab, if you relied on that for sustenance, you'd die of starvation while you were busy cracking open those legs.
Crab. More meaty with actual flavor. Every time I've had lobster in the past it tasted like watery sewage. I'll take me some crab legs any day.
After a short while you learn real quick how to deal with crab legs. I can mow through a dozen legs in 5 minutes easy these days.
It's easy to overcook fish. It's easy to overcook crustaceans. Overcooked lobster is very bad. I think that's what you had.
If I experienced eating a steak that tasted like shoe leather, you probably would tell me to try it again somewhere else. I encourage you to try lobster again somewhere else.
If you deliver (both figuratively and literally), mad props to you.
Price?
Lobster. When done properly lobster is much better than crab, which I also love. The problem is that lobster is extremely difficult to cook properly, even tougher than properly searing a diver scallop. For those saying that lobster is tough or stringy it sounds like you've only had it over-cooked because when it is done properly there is no contest.
Neither are difficult to cook. All you do is fill a pot with water and dump them in for a specific amount of time. If watching a timer is difficult, then I feel sorry for the cook.
Didn't say lobster was difficult to cook. Said it was difficult to cook properly. Sure it's simple to throw it in water and set a timer. Good luck not turning it to rubber using that method.Neither are difficult to cook. All you do is fill a pot with water and dump them in for a specific amount of time. From Boston.com a recipe for making a lobster roll. The slide show of how different New England restaurants serve lobster rolls made my mouth water. I want a lobster roll. And I want it now!

Grandma's recipe
2 each 1 ¼ pound lobsters, steamed
¼ cup pickles, diced small
¼ cup celery, diced small
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon white pepper
½ cup mayonnaise
4 hot dog buns
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon kosher salt
Remove all meat from the lobster and dice into medium size pieces. Mix the mayonnaise, pickles, celery, lemon juice, celery salt, kosher salt, and pepper with the lobster. Reserve. In a non-stick pan or on a griddle, melt the butter. Lightly toast the hot dog buns on both sides. Fill the buns with lobster salad and serve. This recipe is best served with homemade cole slaw and chips.
Tough question. Crab is harder to ruin, but also has less meat. I personally think a well-cooked lobster is better by a tail.
How about clams vs mussels vs oysters?
