Looks like you give one fuck to me. A dry pointy one but one none the less

It shouldn't be though. It wasn't his to give

The tree's dead, so he used to give an eff. And since he doesn't give enough of another one to take the dead tree down, well, he probably really doesn't give an eff.

His previous infractions were utterly minor. Company sounds like a bunch of pricks.

Not sure what the problem is here; the vet gave away something that wasn't his.

Goodbye.

The problem is from the side of the business owners/management. The business is liable if the homeless man claims food poisoning or something that arose from eating said corn muffin. It's why fast food joints have to throw their food into the trash bin out back rather than give the food away at the end of the night because the business becomes liable. As much as we'd like to think all business owners or management personnel are assholes, sometimes it's out of their hands.

The old man didn't give away a muffin that was going to be thrown away, he gave one away that was going to be sold. So the company would be no more liable than if someone had bought the muffin and claimed food poisoning.

Yes but he still has a fuck he grew to give. Its not a good fuck to give but there is still one available should he need it

Rules are rules...

but it's bad PR.

Perhaps they could have a policy where such things are just deducted from the employee's wage.

...

^This. More than a few hundred (thousand) people will stop going to Cracker Barrel because of this; and some that do go will let CB know what they think of that policy.

That homeless man must have assets somewhere. You cannot cook fish just anywhere. Don't think that just because someone is poor that they are incapable of guile all in the name of maxmizing monetary inflows(the equivalent of diving in sports).

Sometimes, you have to pick your battles. Cracker Barrel probably should have let this one slide, then quietly sent out a memo reinforcing the rules. Dropping the atomic bomb of firing the guy is a bit short sighted because it creates a PR firestorm that will lose you business. Especially today when outrage is dolled out at 140 characters.

A good example of how to do PR correctly is the KFC fiasco. YUM brands decided to pay for the girl's surgery even though the grandparents attempted to defraud the company. So it makes them look like the hero. People feel good about spending their money there.

If Cracker Barrel is smart, they'll probably apologize and blame it on some short sighted manager. Then donate some money to a food bank or something.

Cracker Barrel is fucked because they did the right thing and fired and employee who wouldn't stop giving away their product after 4 warnings. All the outrage over this is a perfect example of how the average American has zero critical thinking skills. We are a country of entitled idiots who can't even recognize that employees have to follow the rules to keep their job.

So the guy is old and a vet, how does that give him the right to give away his employer's property? I respect and thank all veterans for their service, but that doesn't automatically make them good people. Some vets I have personally met are despicable pieces of shit.

Anyway, how much does a muffin cost? If the old guy fells that strongly about feeding the homeless, does he buy food with his own money for them or just give them what he takes from his employer?

The real outrage should be that all the idiots sharing their outrage on social media also have the right to vote and help decide the fate of this country. That's damn scary and the reason this country is so fucked.

I support Cracker Barrel, even if they have bland food only fit for old white people. That guy broke the rules 5 times! And I hate poor, homeless people.

Also, fuck KFC. They should have done everything in their power to screw those pieces of shit. You think that family is returning any of the donations they received? Fuck no! KFC should have spent far more than the $30k promised to crush them. And, I hate KFC. I see those commericals for their chicken tender bucket thing all the day (and am super upset by the woman's face and that her kids are too stupid to play iSpy) and I have been to KFC near my house 4 times; every time they don't have any tenders... Wtf?

It's possible more people will go to Cracker Barrel too though, with it having been entered in their subconscious like this. Or even because of a desire to support them against the idiots blaming them.

I think this guy has a ton of nerve, talking to his manager about moral obligation when he could have paid for the things himself. And all the people focusing on the cost of the individual items he already gave away don't understand that the real problem is that he was clearly unwilling to stop doing it.

It's far easier to like or re-tweet a story to show your trendy outrage over this horrible act of corporate greed than it is to actually stop dining at a restaurant you like. Very few people who like Cracker Barrel will actually stop eating there. Lots of idiots who've never eaten at Cracker Barrel even once will log on to their Facebook page to express their outrage.

It's always amusing when the peons who view themselves as little more than lickspittles try their hand at social commentary.

Possibly. However benign the act of not liking CB for this and other policies on Facebook or Twitter, the fact is that someone who does that is reinforcing their dislike of CB not only for themselves but their friends and followers in the "virtual" public. Difficult to put a hard number on but it will have an effect in lost business, both in frequent customers and those who've never been.

You should hire the guy.

Seriously.

Please tell us your plan to employ this person. Surely someone as wise in the ways of business as you are must be the head of a multi-billion dollar empire. I'm sure you could find a place for him. Maybe an executive position.

Is the manager your boyfriend by any chance?
