A 73-year-old Vietnam veteran’s act of kindness violated company policy and got him fired from his job at Cracker Barrel in Florida.

Joe Koblenzer said a needy man approached the host station and asked for some mayonnaise and tartar sauce because he said he was going to make fish. Koblenzer obliged him the request and gave him a corn muffin, too.
Koblenzer told Tucker Carlson this morning on “Fox and Friends” that the rules state you cannot give away food, but he did it anyway.

Granted he has three policy violations couldn't he just pay the company for the coffee and muffin? Oh, and I think the Patent office should get rid of the Cracker name. LMAO!

5 violations and warnings, company policy is to give people FOUR chances to learn the rules, then its time to find a new job and let somebody else have a try.

at what point do the constant links being to "fox news" become worthy of the "Politics & Religion" forum?

No outrage found... The rules is the rules. It was no longer about the food after the first 4 times he broke them. It was about following the rules. Or not following them as the case may be.

Yeah, but they could have at least had some god damn common sense and allowed him to pay for the stuff.

These rules exist to protect the company, if the needy man got food poisoning or claimed such then what. Yeah its messed up but greedy attorneys screwed up acts of kindness a while ago.

No. They couldn't. HE should have had some common sense and followed the rules. Especially after being warned 3 or 4 times.

They gave him 4 freebies, after the fifth one you are out. He was the dumb ass in this case.

IF he wanted to pay for it he should have done it outright from the start. It is like the shoplifter that wants to pay for the goods after leaving the store with them and getting busted.

Pretty straight forward.. I see no problems. Not sure why anyone would be outraged over this?

That's not common sense, that's asinine. Could you imagine what the world would be like if the punishment for stealing was just to pay for it IF you get caught? People would steal shit all the time. I'd walk right out the grocery store door with a full cart. If I got caught, no big deal... I'll just have to pay for the cart I could have paid for in the first place.

Rules are rules...

but it's bad PR.

Perhaps they could have a policy where such things are just deducted from the employee's wage.
