you should have called her when you broke it and told her it was an accident. you then take her shopping and let her pick out a new watch that you pay for. you win.

QFT.. I'd cancel the new order if possible.

well, eayh, but you'd have to put her tastes and likes into consideration - especially for something (I'm assuming) that she wears frequently.

how did you manage to break that thing, anyways?

i couldnt get the back snapped back in so i applied a little pressure with pliers. turned out to be a little too much.

I think there's still time to follow the above advice.

she will understand but i know she liked having a "fancy type" watch. because she is from the south and was fairly poor she didnt have many nice things. so any jewelry she has that is supposedly high class she likes alot.
she wouldnt act bad ever, but i know she liked having the watch.
i may get it repaired anyways and still get the new one.
she is my g/f of 3 years going on 4

you know nothing about teh woman.... do not presume to know her wants and just order her a new watch to try to smooth it over... you will be paying for a new watch, ok.... but she will be the one choosing the new style color, etc...
if you dont return that watch you ordered... you are so gone.....

well i been wrong before, but i think im doing the right thing. she will be suprised by it which women like.
kinda like how when a woman picks out her own engagement ring, sure she gets the exact one she wants, but then its no suprise when she gets the proposal. i would like to hear from women.

applicable to a gift... not a replacement. you're not just buying her something new out of the blue to be nice...you broke her thing...

personally, if it were me, and you've bought a nice replacement as you have, i'd be happy.

You are thinking like a woman.
What he should do is tell her that he noticed some scratches so he is getting the watch professionally cleaned and polished. In the meantime he and all of his friends comb the town trying to find a watch exactly like it. He gets another friend to print up a real looking receipt from a jewelry store showing that they cleaned the watch so he has back up when he gives it back to her.
That is what a man would do.

Here is the last watch I bought my g/f and that she currently wears:

what are you trying to prove with that post? that you and your gf are better than everyone else?
