You should've went out and bought the watch so you had it ready. Not get it online and wait for it to be shipped.

why not buy her the identical watch? you took the lazy route and just ordered it on line... oh wow, so much thoughtfullness :-/

get off your fat lazy ass and go buy her a new one as identical to that one as possible, and throw in a small pair of diamond earrings as a bonus (walmart has them for 60-70$)

Just tell her it turns out you can't replace batteries on a Guess watch. And that you got her a new one instead.\

That watch looks like sh!t anyway.... I find it hard to believe she wouldn't be satisfied with a new watch that looks just as good.

I'd say go a decent replacement and be honest.

Here is the last watch I bought my g/f and that she currently wears:

http://www.bulova.com/brands/bulova/pro...px?id=799&coll_id=55&origin=collection
what are you trying to prove with that post? that you and your gf are better than everyone else?

i like the Guess watch in OP's post. i'd wear it, and fyi i have a Bulova watch also. bfd.

If that is the impression I gave, I apologize. That was not intended. My line about it not being a "fancy" watch was not meant to be tied to the followed link saying that the bullova was, because in my opinion the Bulova's aren't really "fancy" watches either. Hell, I can't afford what I would consider a "fancy" watch.

Either way, many Guess watches look similar and there are many similar to the one that was to be replaced on www.guess.com.

Dude that new watch is nothing like the original. The original one you broke, she can wear everyday with any attire and it'll match. This new watch is more of a flashy, wear with nice clothes going to a nice dinner watch. Bad move. Just let her pick one out at the mall. Done.

yeah right, cos girls love it when you sneak around behind their back.

ever considered telling her what happened, offering to buy her a new one? and then letting her choose it?

I cant say that i agree witht he choice you made in ordering that new watch, but i dont really know your whole situation. I hope she is happy with the new watch, but i would have told her and gone out with her to let her pick out a new one. Actually you can still do that if you wish and either cancel the other watch, or just give it to her as an additional gift.

i wouldn't do the whole being extra nice thing and then surprise her by telling her you broke her watch. next time your super nice, she's gonna suspect something. just tell her the truth; you wanted to do something nice for her but you were clumsy/unfortunate and broke her watch and you still wanted to do something nice so you ordered her a new watch.

edit: show her the watch you ordered, if she doesn't like it then tell her that you both can go looking for a new one (mall, online (amazon has nice watches, got my bro a badass one from there), whatevers)
