I have a pair of $200 ray bans and $90 bolles... both are excellent and have lasted years. Would rather have these than be wearing and breaking a $20 set every few months.

Now, plastic $400 unpolarized chanel/fendi/gucci glasses I have a hard time understanding.

Yep. And once you do, don't buy LCD based cell phones anymore. AMOLED is the only way to see the screen in both orientations.

I have a pair of these. never would have thought expensive glasses make a difference, but these are amazing compared to my $20 pair of iron mans from target. something in the lenses and they weigh almost nothing. almost like looking through slightly tinted glass but with no glare or squinting at all even in the brightest sun and you don't even notice you are wearing them.

I bought the Sandy Beach, a very similar style to the Ho'okipa. Same Clearshell coating (thus the same $179 msrp). Best $100 I've spent in awhile.

when did MJ have lifetime warranty for their shades? i have a pair of MJ that the nose bridge broke. Wonder they will fix it for free.

I'm not sure if its official, but they'll take care of you even outside warranty from what I understand. They're supposedly not allowed off the phone until you can say yes to "did we wow you today?"

Polarized matters a lot, but it's the anti-reflective coating is bigger to me -- dark lens, super high amount of reflections. Last I checked, Ray Bans that aren't polarized don't come with an AR coating. I had to get rid of my Aviators because I cheaped out and got the regular lens.

Oh yah. I don't buy anything but polarized lenses anymore. That alone eliminates the cheap drug store specials.

FWIW Expensive sunglasses actually do have a performance advantage unlike most purses. However its probably similar in that once you get past a certain point you are mostly paying for name and not build quality.

I had the titanium bridge snap on my several year old revos, no receipt left, out of stock so they gave me my choice of whatever I wanted out of their current catalog.

Plus, you cannot get a quality lens and frame for $8 as suggested... maybe around 50-60 some are decent.

that is the same one i got, but the nose bridge is broken, will contact MJ and see how much does it costs for them to fixes the broken nose bridge.

Those look like something you have to wear with a sleeveless t-shirt and jorts. The Prada ones I tried on are men's---they have men's and women's lines.

$250 = expensive sunglasses? I paid $450 after 15% farm bureau discount (prescription glasses, so its pretty much the only thing not taxed in the Land of Lenin) and that isn't anywhere close to top of the line.

I'm a Foster Grant $25 guy. You could get an entire suit for $450...screw that!

I've had Oakley Juliet's since 2001, awesome sunglasses. I just picked up some Nike ones at Costco, build quality doesn't look to be as sturdy but the optics are very good.
