I have a TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U drive and every single time I try to burn something, it fails. I was thinking it may be the media, since I only have a 10 pack of one kind here, but I did some googling and it looks like lot of people are having issues with this drive. I have not found any solutions though.
Just wondering if anyone would happen to have a solution to this, likeupdating firmware or something? I've never updated an optical drive's firmware before... never even knew it could be done.
Thing is, I paid for this, so I expect it to actually work. Not only that, but I have an acrylic case and the only way to unscrew a drive is to remove the motherboard to remove the side panel (all one peice) which is a real PIA. So I'm really hoping I don't have to go out and spend more money.
Oh and the discs I'm using are Ascent DVD+R 4.7GB 4X. On the case it also sas RW on it, which is confusing me since maybe they are RW's? But right below RW it says CD+R?!
Also when it burns, it burns at 2.4X, and nero does not give me any option to change this, not even to a lower value. I don't really like the fact that it's a decimal, that's not really standard, never seen that before. Oh and I'm using nero 6.3.
So any help would be greatly apreciated, thanks!
