Watch The Animatrix and eductate yourself if you can't understand the story. The Wacko Siblings did a fine job explaining Zion and the Machine War to me, it just took a couple watches to fully get it.

it still has one good scene--where Luke is hiding out from Vader, then lashes out blah blah. really the crux of the series. but yeah, overall pretty craptastic. the first one is the crappiest, mind you.

In a similar vein, seeing the newer ones in the theater I thought, "that's not too bad." Then, either going back to see them or watching them later on TV or whatever...can't imagine why I tolerated them before.

"Attack of the Clones" makes "Jedi" look like "Dr. Zhivago"
