1. Nationhood and Jerusalem. Israel became a nation in 1312 B.C.E., two thousand years before the rise of Islam.

2. Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel.

3. Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 B.C.E., the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

4. The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 C.E. lasted no more than 22 years.

5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.

6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.

7. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.

8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.

9. Arab and Jewish Refugees: In 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty-eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.

10. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.

11. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is estimated to be the same.

12. Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own peoples' lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the state of New Jersey.

13. The Arab - Israeli Conflict: The Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.

14. The P.L.O.'s Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel. Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them.

15. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.

16. The U.N. Record on Israel and the Arabs: of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.

17. Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.

18. The U. N was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.

19. The U.N. was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.

20. The U.N. was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

Good post. The Israeli side of the conflict is often argued through such concepts as common sense and logic, which usually fail on most people. Hard facts may work better.

My thoughts exactly, reads like a Fwd:Fwd:Fwd republican sheeple e-mail.

BTW saying a nation exited on xyz date is meaningless. People conquer people and take land. The middle east has been conquered many times over, no people but the current have any right to it now.

This is a one sided whitewash--which is not to say that Israel has some legitimate claims---the point is a fair and balanced view shows
Israel lacking clean hands either---and the way to resolve the Arab Israelie conflict is not to be just one sided or uni-dimentional. Israel has
yet to grips with the right of return---and under UN rules must go back to pre-1967 borders.

But as long as hard liners on both sides are steering the resoluition process---don't look for any agreement soon on anything---and more one sided
assertions is the last thing needed.

While the Palistinian people and their plight gets little attention in the US---In the Arab world its exactly the opposite---and the Israelies get all the bad press.

But who of moral conscience can look the other way as innocent Lebanese civilians get collectively punished for the actions of terrorists by Israel?

As long as you say things in such a way as to make it seem like you know what you're
talking about, some people will assume you do. Given that a couple of the items listed among these "facts" aren't quite factual. I am inclined to take other items listed therein with a grain of salt, pending further research.

Muslims do not pray with their backs toward Jerusalem. They face Mecca when they pray.
That was the first thing that caught my eye.

It's definitely a one sided piece. It's one of those lists that has just enough truth mixed into the BS that most people who don't know any better, or refuse to fact check it, might buy into the BS half.

That is what set off the bs alarms.

No wonder the Arabs want to exterminate the Jews. They pray with their backs to Mecca.

I think they do. They understand that they aren't as unified in their extremism as their Right Wing counterparts are.

If you disagree or have a correction to make then that's what a forum is for. Those of you who see nothing but the left-right or demovrat-republican in everything of course are the victims of sophisticated mass mind control. Think outside the box people. Be your own self. heehe.

Muslim do face Mecca, so simple geography does erase the validity of #8 on the list. If a muslim were in Eastern Europe in just the right spot, he would face towards Isreal which would in that case be directly between Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Muslim legends about mohammed ascending up to heaven from Isreal are perhaps up to your own faith to decide. I don't believe in that stuff.

The main thing i found so interesting is how the Arab World which is allegedly so into doing good to their muslim brothers of the same sect, does no good to these refugees who are left to be cared for by so few else other then Isreal over the years. Primarily. Why didn't Saudi Arabia take them in? Or Iran or Iraq?

The list makes a clear case for the Isreal people of blood lineage to the past inhabitants as being native to this region and thus understandable there to resettle. They turned a desert land into a modern bountiful oasis.

Then it seems everyone in the region of the middle east saw that and wanted that land.

Conflict in the Middle East is so much about two opposites wanting the same exact real estate. I think history should weigh in this discussion. Don't you?

Blood lineage huh? Let's see if you keep that tone if a few red-skinned fellows come knocking on your door with a claim to your property.

Straightalker, you think history should weigh in this decision? Are we going to give every piece of land on the planet back to the indigenous people? The Biblical Jews moving into the promised land was a straight-eight killing of the local inhabitants and looting. It's described in Numbers 31. The Bible is thoughtful enough to list some of the loot in Numbers 31:32-40.

Between ca. 1200 BC?1100 BC, most of southern Canaan was conquered by Israelites, while the northern areas were taken over by Arameans. The remaining area still under clear Canaanite control, is referred to by its Greek name, "Phoenicia" (meaning "purple", in reference to the land's famous dye).
(From Wikipedia).
So... lets give Israel back to the Phoenecians or their descendants.
How far back shall we go?
Canaan was also invaded by the Egyptians before the Israelites, so if anyone takes precedence over the Palestinians, it's the Egyptians.
So, get rid of Israel and make it part of Egypt again. Since history must weigh in, of course.

Ottoman empire and the British were Jewish huh?

Or all you still on your kick that Israel stole the aland during the 67 war...which I know you know nothing of, since history does not matter to you.
