Crazy car accident

I thought I recognized that location and looked it up on Google maps. The accident was at E 17th and Pearl in Eugene, just a few blocks from the UO campus. The "canal" is Amazon creek. It looks like the BMW was headed east on 17th, the minivan south on Pearl. Traffic on 17th has a stop sign, Pearl doesn't (and is one-way south). That's why the BMW was at fault, he didn't yield the right of way like he was supposed to. He must've pulled out in front the minivan or (more likely) he ran the stop.


edit: NM, just got to the 3rd page of that thread, looks like the detectives there already figured that out.

edit2: the use of race card in that thread is hilarious. It's obvious from the maps, news article, etc. that the BMW didn't have the right-of-way and the cop made the right decision in this case (every once and a while they do something right).

:thumbsup: I was about to post that.

Hell, I don't even know where that is, but you can clearly see from the pictures and his description that the mini-van hit him from the left, meaning that the mini-van was on the street with no stop signs, and had the right away. So, either the dumbass went through the stop sign, or, since the driver seems to think that the mini-van was going "very fast" he may have drove right in front of her instead of waiting.
