crazy CDROM problem, help please

I installed a new HD and partitioned it. I accidently made one partition primary. I deleted the partitions and reformatted the HD. Now my computer is not recognizing my two cd drives, it says they are not connected, but bios recognizes them. I even uninstalled Partition Magic and took out the new HD...
how can i get it to recognize the drives?

It is possible that Partition Magic made the new drive "hidden." BIOS sees it but Windows does not. Did you make your P/M Emergency Boot floppies? Boot with them and make sure the drives are not "hidden."
