Bahah, .83/10 over the last whatever period. Rofl, at least I know not to expect my processor any time soon. Worse comes to worse, I have a microcenter 15 min away from me and I will raise hell until the appropriate phone calls are made.

On a side note, I hate the "thread crapping" antagonism here. Idrajeil, you should not have even had to worry or mention "thread crapping" your advice was extremely helpful and on topic. Ive seen similar posts get called out, its really fricken lame. If someone points out a better product for similar or less money, or wants to share their bad experiences with a bad product in this forum they get flamed. Must put a smile on retailers faces to see that we don't help each other out.

Man...if I didnt just (3 days ago) get a Q6600 G0 I would definitely get this. I'm still trying to justify getting one! Great price from a reputable place. It would cost me $45 to return the q6600 to clubit, even though I havent opened it yet. But an E6600 for $129!!!!!!! :S

Wow, thanks for making it a system! My last system build was about 5 years ago, and I am about to start researching for a new system as the old one is gone.

Now, how good is this for an HTPC with HD tuner(s)? I was planning to buy next month or so. Should I wait or bite on this...everyone seems to think this is hot, but I have no clue what the prices have been.

Next, which one is better? I heard the e6400 overclock well, and is the e6700 worth the extra money. my sketchy requirements are below

What I need -
-- needs to be intel core 2 duo
-- i dont play games
-- i do expect it to do video encoding and HTPC stuff
-- i like ot overclock it, just for the heck of it... but if overclocking core 2 duos is a pain, ill just leave it at stock.
-- to be on 24/7 and act as a reliable server (not necessarily running a server).
-- thinking of putting raptors to make sure its fast...and running Vista on it

I think this will be my 4th order from them. First order, I had to phone them because of the address issue which FDF12389 correctly identifies. Got a live body pretty quickly. Microcenter is also a chain of B&M stores, though this deal is online only.

I'm in for 3, for under $400 shipped. Now no more agonizing over whether to get an E4x00 or E6xx0. Thanks Karaktu. I haven't gotten their email yet (though I'm on their list).
