Those are old G80 cards... the 8800GTX is a nice deal though but I don't think the 8800GTS 640MB and 320MB are too hot... I think a 8800GT and a 8800GS/9600GT respectively would be better choices at those price points.

the 320mb gts might be a good deal for a budget minded gamer, but you can find a 8800gts 512 for about the same as the 640 (and its faster with more features) and the 8800gtx is fast but unless you wan't to sli it and run at 2560x1600 there is little reason to go for it over a 8800gts 512 (or to not wait a week for the 9800gtx)

So then what's the better deal? An 8800GTS (320MB) for $115 AR or 8800GS (256MB) for $110 AR? Or even compare to a 9600GT for about $125 AR.

I've been looking to get a decent card for a good price. Was just recently comparing the 8800GS and 9600GT and now this GTS comes in for the same price!

I wouldn't even get a 8800gts 320. It is the weakest link compared to 8800gs or 9600gt.

8800gs>9600gt raw performance
9600gt>8800gs with 1600x1200+ resolutions with AA

Those 8800gs are underclocked in lot of the reviews. Can easily overclock the core to 700mhz. Check out my review in my sig.

You need to change that to: "8800gs=9600gt raw performance" ... according to your own review. You also said later on that the 8800gs and 320gts are equal in peformance at their standard clock speeds.

What don't you understand in my review?

Yes at stock speeds they are about equal but if you saw my review you can see how big of a overclock I got out of it. These 8800gs clocks much further than than the 8800gts 320 which makes it better deal. You also get all the bells and whistles of G92. Better TRMS image quality and HDCP support.

I just paid $215 for a 512mb 8800gts. Now just a few days later I see I could have got the 640mb version for $15 less. ah!!!!!!!

Actually, the 512mb version is NEWER and is based on the newer cooler 65nm G92 VPU. The 640mb version is based on the older 90nm G80 VPU which uses more power, runs hotter, and is slower.

The 512mb GTS is on par with the 8800GTX in most situations, and it's virtually always faster than the 640mb GTS.
