I picked up L4D for the sale price, haven't fired it up yet, but looking forward to it. Steam name is Kefka1983.

L4D starting to look reasonable.
$37.50 is still too much for it imo. I preloaded it and got it for $45 and I don't think it's worth $37.50. I hardly play it at all.
man, its such a fun game...you guys are crazy.
Truth.
I hear these complaints from people who don't do well in a cooperative environment. Some people want their shooters to be rambo...
And yeah, if you're not working your friends list for this game, you're doing it wrong. Get good teammates, get a mic, and you'll have a blast.

Well I don't consistenly have everyone on my friends list playing L4D and when you don't it sucks. There's just not enough content to warrant the price. It got boring very quickly. I'll pop it in once a day and play a round of versus and that's it. They need some more content. 2 maps to play on with the same weapons over and over gets boring.

its a valve game, there will be more content soon...hopefully you will still be interested in the game at that time.
No sane person is going to deny the value of Orange Box, but to be fair, every new $50 game (covering the same or similar genre) is going to seem overpriced in comparison to what Valve pulled back then, so I hope you're not limiting this feeling just to Left 4 Dead.Originally posted by: ultra laser
Orange Box spoiled me. After paying $50 for all the content Orange Box delivered, L4D seems a little steep.

Bought Unreal Tournament 3 for $10. Not a bad deal. Hopefully people are actually playing it...

I've been debating whether or not I should pick up the Unreal Deal Pack.
Its 20 bucks for Unreal Gold, Unreal 2, UT 2004, UT Gold, and UT3. I have the original Unreal, and the original UT. I had UT 2003, but my disks are shot.
I was only moderately interested in Bioshock, but since it still has the securom with limited activations, thats black listed. Even at 5 dollars, I still cannot bring myself to rent a game under false pretenses.

i thought they took all that nonsense out of bioshock.

Quick question: does Steam automatically update non-Valve games?

There's still a blurb on the Steam Bioshock page about it requiring online activation, so there's still some form of securom in it. Games that use the normal Steam authentication don't have such a notice.
Wish Impulse would have sales like this, Steam is probably selling games right and left from this.

L4D isn't that great of a deal. I just ordered it off Amazon for $2 (and change) more.

It's like the other Sid Meier games (Civ, Railroads!). You can probably finish a game in a few hours if you set up a very easy campaign. Or you can go all out and end up with a game that takes much longer to complete.Originally posted by: fivetiger
What about Sid Meier's Pirates? What is the time frame of this game? I can't do any rpg length games these days.
