Compusa has the 30 GB Zen Vision:M for $199 -- no rebates. Available in store.
I was able to pricematch this at Best Buy FWIW.

Newegg has the Blue Zen Vision:M for $159.99 + $5.64 shipping [after a $50 mail in rebate]...the other colors are between $5-$25 higher.

I like mine but you can easily find reviews around the net and make up your own mind.

I bought one of these from woot.com for $185 and I love it. Everywhere I go people ask me about it. I've even converted a few people to Creative with it.

Can you use them as a portable hardrive without special application to drag/drop files from explorer?

I bought this thing when it first came out, about this time last year. I paid $330. A year later it is still an awesome mp3 player, and works as good as new.

Lol. I remember back when I had a Zen Touch. Everyone said I had a "different branded iPod." I'd laugh everytime they said it.

I'm positive it comes with Creative's MediaOrganizer program that is very easy to use and you can drag-drop into your player. As far as files go, i'm not sure what kind of files you can send over. I've never tried it, I've only brought over mp3s

You can partition the unit (up to 14 GB) to act as storage that can be access when the unit is set in removable disk mode. The system then functions via USB w/out any additional software (like a thumb drive) -- but you cannot use the MP3 functions until you place the unit back into MP3 mode.

This is no longer necessary. If you update to the latest firmware you can drag and drop anything you want from explorer.

I've never heard of an MP3 player that can have it's HD upgraded.

Technically all of them do actually, it's just not a feature. You can buy any drive that fits in there if you wanna open it up and void your warranty. However the largest drive available right now for this size IS 30 gig. Toshiba is trying to get the 40gig single platter drive out so people can buy them but they haven't been commercially released yet.

The old Zen Xtra has a standard laptop drive so it could be upgraded. It also had a battery that could be changed in 15 seconds.

yep that's the one I have

I bought it from ebay because my original got stolen at a party.
The guy that sold it to me actually repairs them and told me that all he does is buy them when they are broken from customers, and would simply replace the HD that was from a laptop (he said max was 60gigs) and he would resell it and make profit. That was the beauty of this model.

Yeah, I had it to until the headphone jack went out for the last time. I had resoldered the jack about three or four times, but the solder pad finally came off the board. Left channel stick works so I shorted it across the right channel, so now the player plays left channel in both sides. I finally got tired of it and found the woot for the Vision:M. They dumbed down the interface slightly on the V:M, but they also put some customizable menus in there and of course the screen is briliant.

So, I'm really happy with the V:M and again, it makes all my friends with an iPod jealous when I show them all the features it has for the price I paid for it ($185).
