Has anyone used Creatine? What are the side affects if any and are the benifits better than the side affects? Does it help loose weight while gaining mussle?
It's meant for people who require a lot of power in short burts, multiple times (i.e. football players, sprinters, etc). It's not really used to gain weight, however you may look a little bigger due to the fact that it makes you retain more water weight. I wouldn't really use it as something to help you lose weight either. I don't think it's been around long enough to determine any long term negative effects...

Doma- I buy optimum nutrition protein, I've been taking it for about a year now. I weighed about 135 lbs this time last year, now I weigh 162+ All of it is muscle. I reccomend whey protein beyond belief. However im starting to realize that the theory of 1g of protein per 1 lb of your body weight a day is a little flawed. I think I could get away with 100 grams of protein(food included). Consider how much you are just pissing away too. Im thinking of just moving back to 2 protein shakes a day. lift on buddy!

You reckon you put on at least 32lbs of muscle in one year??!
A huge bulking cycle and then a very strict cutting cycle will not yield a 32lbs net gain of muscle...
How tall are you?

What is it with everyone adding supplements to their diet? Doesn't anyone just tough it out and just eat lean meat for protein anymore?

There seems to be an overemphasis on protein. Make sure you also get plenty of good fats and carbs. What are those? Go to a body building forum.

I don't have the money or time to eat enough meat for the protein i need. Yeah, if you're sitting infront of your computer all day and hit the gym once every few weeks, you probably don't understand the necessity for protein, but some of us do.

More calories in then expensed with through your body not using it = gain fat. Simple as that.
Yes you will get a bit fatter BUT if you want to get BIGGER you will put on some fat. Then just cut down later (less food, up the cardio) then you will lose the fat.
Trying to gain mass through eating lean is not going to be easy and it will be a LONG and DRAWN out process. Most people give up with lack of results with this method.
