Are you kidding? Black I can understand...but rare is the best. I like my steak raw and bloody...just hot enough to kill the bacteria.

Oh I like it juicy, but rare seems like it is almost still alive

Medium-rare r0x0rs your b0x0rs.

Does it? I actually don't have steak enough to really know that it would make a difference (though I love steak and have it whenever I can!).

What is the difference (for you at least), and why do you reccomend/have different types of preperation for the different cuts?

well since we've got off the topic, I like Medium-well the best... with massive amounts of butter (so much butter that your heart starts beating faster and you can feel your arteries clogging)

Why is it that the stuff that is worse for you always tastes the best? (retorical question)

In my opinion, it is really hard to believe in evolution, and one must really work at it, so as not to recognize the truth.

EDIT: I like my steak the way it's given to me. Just as long as it's on my plate, I'm happy.

Breeders have been conducting an "experiment" in this regard for countless centuries. If it were possible, I believe they would have done it by now.

I do not see any scientific evidence that a horse can be bred into a non-horse.

The cuts with more fat tend to be the most moist and put up with over cooking more. For instance, bacon wrapped fillets are better medium rare. The bacon adds to the flavor and the bacon fat needs more time to penetrate the meat. Other cuts, such as round steak need only to be slightly cooked or it can be tough.

wtf? since when did horse+horse=not a horse? and btw what are you talking about?

i'm going to turn your argument around completely and say that the art of breeding (choosing the best traits to carry on to new generations) portrays evolution on a smaller scale. a pure pred species of dog, for example, has certain traits that are retained when bred with another of the same breed. start mixing things around and you start having different traits. the different pure breeds start to get very distinct qualities.

On a second note, steak sucks. The only 2 meats are ground beef and chicken.

I might add that my creator forbids just running the damn animal by and tearing a hunk off or I would.....

Excellent. New information is always good

talkorigins has pretty damn good discussions on this topic. by the way, evolution is an irrefutable fact. all creatures evolve, and they are evolving around us. if you look closely enoug, you can even see it happen. it is simply the mechanism of this evolution that is under debate. well, it's not really a debate when only one side actually has facts, but whatever.

If it's just the steak, medium. If I'm having it with something else, like baked potato, I prefer it medium-well and smothered in mushrooms and butter...mmmmm-mmmm good!

Oh, and to please the rest of you thread-crappers P) yes I believe in evolution. I have it to thank for the cow that my steak comes from
