Theres a big SOLD OUT sign by the display and I take the guy aside and tell him I know whats going on and hes like 'there was some problem in the pricing of it...I have 6 in stock but I cant sell them because of the issue" Oh well I guess

haha yeah.....either the stores are catching wind of the glitch...or are taking them for themselves. The guy i talked to really made it seem that he wasnt allowed to sell them...the manager was over there taking the sku info down from the display item...I dont even know...all I know is we drove 20 min for nothing

I called up the new BB in Hamilton at 2PM asking for a stock check. They said they had 27 in stock but couldn't find them. At first I thought that they were lying so I went there by myself. There was ONE left in the display case behind all the 40gigs so I got it. There was a little bit of confusion when the person rang me up, but everyone was cool and I got it!

I didn't even try the one in Tri-County Mall and Cinncinati because they are fairly popular and would surely be sold out. I called the Tri County one anyways and they said that they couldn't sell it because it was a mistake from Corporate.

They also told me to tell the people on whatever forum I got the deal from that no one was supposed to know about this pricing mistake, and to tell the forum people that Best Buy has caught on, and will not be selling these for $20 anymore.

I went to BB, and there were none left and only a display model. So I asked for the display, and the guy was happy to give it to me. He rung it up and made sure everything was okay, and then looked at the price. He was surprised, then told me that there was no way he could sell it for that low, it would hurt the store, yadda, yadda (the guy was is in his late-teens/early-twenties and I don't think he cares about the store losing money). After five minutes of arguing, I realized that he probably wanted this deal (he said it was a "steal"). After I thanked him for his time, I saw him go over to the case and start to take it off the display. Grrr...

We went the same Hamilton one that claimed that their inventory of 27 was a mistake. The ones I found was at Tri-County.




For those who got one, anyone using the latest firmware? I'm wondering if I should upgrade the firmware.

RealPlayer also works fine withthis unit, its a whole lot better than the creative software that is included in the box.

Thanks for the link. Wish it was free though. Anyone know if you can transfer files straight from Windows Explorer, with no software installed? That would be nice!

I installed just the drivers for mine, and not the media source software that came with it. I am now able to sync files just using WMP. pretty slick.

edit: I just now went in and was able to C&P files directly through windows exploder. not sure if you can copy playlists like this, or if you have to create them in the Nomad software or the device itself.

aww man. i just went to my local bb and they showed to have 3 in stock, but they claimed to have it sold out. i asked to see what they had in the locked cabinet below the mp3 players and they refused. it's just open items... i think they are hiding it. also i had them check surrounding bb, and one showed that they had 11, so i called them and the rep said they just sold out. they are liars! i'm pissed. this is in baton rouge/ new orleans, btw.

Same with me, called and they said they had 2 in stock, went and they said they didn't have any and it was a glitch in the system that said they had them. Yeah right more like a glitch in the system that said they were 20 bucks.

So then I said well ok just sell me the display one and she made up some other excuse.

Honestly though, no way these things are on sale for $219, at that price they will never ever sell one of these things. The thing is generations old and even looking at it in the store it's sitting right next to a handful of 20-40gig name brand MP3 players that are around that $220 price and half the size.

Seriously the thing is drastically out of place sitting on the shelf as it's the only monstrously sized one still around, no way they could think they're gonna get rid of it by selling it for $219.
