Pizza bagels or Pizza English Muffins.

Take bagel, put on sauce and cheese, then cook in oven. hmmmm

You can use the cans of biscuits for this too .... usually they are cheaper than bagels and english muffins

I recommend Zatarans Gumbo mix and Jambalaya Mix .... Easy to follow... just add meat and water ... tasty ... (I usually add some garlic, onions, peppers, and okra when I make it, as well as at a minimum chicken and sausage, and usually shrimp too ...) much cheaper than going out and food is quite tasty ....

ohh i love Zatarans Jambalaya mix. get some extra hot sausage and cut it uup and throw in. plenty for one person to have 2-3 meals.

Another vote for Zatarain's Jambalaya mix. It's like $2 a box and you can get it for $1.50 or less on sale. Toss in a pound of something inexpensive like chicken or pork and you can get two tasty and filling meals for about $4.

Check out All Recipes website. Just browse there until you find some recipes you like. You can change the cooking amount based on how many people you are feeding also. very handy for large groups, or in your case just you.

Yeah that's one thing I get for a quick meal. Zatarain's Red Beans & Rice.

Another thing that's yummy...

Chop up some ground beef and onion.
Brown together in skillet.
Then spread mixture on 8" flour tortillas ... 3 is good for one meal.
Add diced tomato, mozzarella, and jalepenos.
Then bake in oven at 350 for ~10 minutes.
When all warmed up, drizzle some Ranch dressing on top.
Fold in half and munch.

Sloppy Joes are pretty simple.
For awhile I would just buy frozen chicken patties and have a sandwich for dinner.
Stir fry is also pretty quick.

Most pasta dishes are fairly easy and always tastey. Scampi, Lemon-butter, maranara, sausage, alfredo, pesto... all delicious.

These are very popular menu so you can easily google some recipes. For both you are going to need thinly sliced beef (the fatter the better), soy sauce, mirin (japanese sweet cook wine), sake (white wine). For beef don (beef over rice) you only need to add sliced onion. For sukiyaki I usually add napa cabbage, shitaki mushroom, and tofu.

Some recipes probably ask for stock which are made by boiling konbu and bonito flakes or small dried fish in water for enhenced taste, but it's not necessary.

Get some pork chops, mushrooms, garlic, worcestershire sauce, and a bottle of cheap white zinf. Drop the pork chops in flour/pepper mixture, then lightly fry on each side in a pan. Chop up the shrooms, dice the garlic, and add it plus enough worcestershire and wine to cover the bottom of the pan (about 1/2" deep). Cover and cook together until pork is done.

Serve with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus or other favorite veggie.

Ingredients: Thick cut boneless pork chop, russet potato, 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, 4 sprigs fresh thyme, canola oil, butter, salt, pepper, asparagus, 1 lemon

Instructions:
Pork Chop: Allow the pork chop to get to room temperature. Zest the lemon (scrape off the yellowest part of the skin) and save the zest. Squeeze the lemon juice into a bowl. Lay the 2 sprigs of rosemary on a cutting board and whack them a few good times with the back edge of a heavy knife to smash the leaves some. Put the rosemary into the lemon juice with the leaves submerged and the stalk sticking out to allow the rosemary juice to mix with the lemon juice. Meanwhile, heat the oven to 400 degrees, and heat a cast iron skillet on med-high with a little bit of canola oil (there should be about 1/16" of liquid covering the bottom of the pan). Use the rosemary stalks to brush the lemon juice on the pork chop, covering it on all sides. Then throw on the lemon zest, salt and pepper, and when the oil starts to smoke some, throw the chop in the pan, searing it. Wait 30 seconds to 1 minute and check to see the bottom of the pork chop is a nice colour. When it gets nice and brown, flip it over, throw the rosemary sprigs and 2 thyme sprigs in the pan, and throw it in the oven. Wait 5 minutes, take it out, flip it back over, throw it back in the oven, wait 5 more minutes, then take it out and let it sit for 5 minutes before eating. It should be a nice medium by this point and is ready for eating.

Asparagus: Heat a pan with 1/16" of oil and 2 tbsp of butter. Coat the bottom of the pan with salt and pepper quite heavily. Throw the asparagus in the pan and roll the stalks around until they are well coated. Asparagus first goes a very dark green, then a pale green as it cooks. Take it out when it's very dark and a little bit crunchy still.

Potato: Slice the potato with the skin on to about 1/8" thick. Put a pan on med-high heat, add some canola oil. When the oil is hot, throw in 2 thyme sprigs and the potato slices. Sprinkle on some salt. When the bottom of the potatoes brown, flip them over. When they are finished, take them out of the pan and dry them with a paper towel.

Learn to make rice, beans, pasta, soup/stew. These are the cheapest and easiest things to make and they can come out damn good if you know what you are doing.

If you'd rather have steak go get a nice cut of beef. Prime rib goes great with this but if you're looking to keep things cheap try a sirloin instead.

This is from memory so I hope it's accurate.

Get some Au Jus sauce concentrate, cheap wine (sweet wine works well or a nice merlot), garlic, and portabella mushrooms.

In a saucepan heat up a small amount of butter. Cook mushrooms. Add Au Jus concentrate, wine, and garlic to taste. You want a thick, soupy mix to put on the steak. Keep warm so mushrooms absorb flavor.

Meanwhile, sprinkle some pepper onto the steak and slow cook until medium done. Top with mushroom mixture.
