To un-install Creative Disc Detector
The Disc Detector shows up as an icon in the system tray (the bottom right-hand corner of the desktop). It is enabled by default. To disable it, right click on the Disc Detector icon, and select Properties. In the Creative Disc Detector dialog, select the General tab, clear the checkbox next to Enable Disc Detector.
The Creative Disc Detector is not listed in Add/Remove Programs at Control Panel. If you need to delete or un-install it, you can manually search for and delete files installed by Creative Disc Detector.
Click Start, Run, type MSCONFIG and press Enter.
Click on the Startup tab.
Uncheck the boxes next to the processes "CTNOTIFY" and "Mediadet.exe", then click on OK.
Go to Windows Explorer, search for and delete the following CTDETECT related files:
Ctdetect.cpl
Ctdetect.cnt
Ctdetect.hlp
Ctdetect.ftg
Ctdetect.fts
Ctdetect.gid
