Creative Labs DVD12x CloneCD

i can get a good deal on a Creative Labs dvd12x and was wondering if it reads subchannels and all of that good stuff for use with clonecd?

I can also get a good deal on NEC 12X DVD ROM Bare Drive #DV-5700A IDE, would this be a better choice?

Is it possibly a rebadged toshiba?

My Creative 8X works fine with CloneCD.

Oh get off it! It also allows you to make backups of already owned software which is perfectly legal. God I hate self rightousness!

People must really not take good care of their CDs to require backing them up so much...

I'm the worst! I have thousands of cd games all over the place. I make backup images because a lot of my disks are so badly scratched! NONE are in the right case, if they are in a case at all.

my old 10x nearly ate my Quake 3 cd but after copying it to me hard drive and deleting the movie files out of the zip file (the part of the cd it scratched) and then installing from the drive, i did a copy of that installed Q3 to cd.
